We were looking for a lake getaway weekend and booked based on the glowing reviews. We arrived to a tired old property. The staff @ the front desk was very friendly. The room was the smallest room and bathroom we have EVER stayed in. The view was the dumpster in the side parking lot. Are you kidding me?? NO LAKE VIEW from the room. Balloon deflated. If you walk out back, you will finally see the lake in the distance, with a limited view due to a huge oak tree. The pool was large but cloudy. The dining room had the best view of the lake and the buffet for lunch was good. We put the sign out 3 times for maid service but apparently @ the wrong times. The exterior of the building is sadly neglected. Too bad. I bet this was a nice place 20 years ago. Someone needs to care enough to update and maintain.

My cousin had her fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration here in the Garden Room at Kenlake Resort Lodge. Her daughter did an outstanding job preparing for the event and the Garden Room was an excellent venue for it. The food was prepared by the lodge and consisted of appetizers and punch followed by a scrumptious dinner meal buffet. The mixed tossed salad and toppings was very colorful. Main entrees included ham and chicken spaghetti with sides of fried okra, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. The rolls were delicious. The Garden Room opens out to a concrete deck overlooking the lodge pool. The view is spectacular. This lodge is near Kentucky Lake and the Land Between the Lakes area. There is a circular drive which accommodates parking at the lodge entrance. We did not stay the night at the lodge, but it would be a beautiful place to relax and spend some vacation time.

Yes, it is older... & few ammenities BUT private views of lake, quiet and simply gorgeous setting, polite staff, clean and soft beds. IF you are looking for a family unit--their cabins are new-like little houses with screen porches & grills...book early for best prices (prices vary).

We stayed at the Resort over the weekend. It was wonderful. It just what we needed for a quick getaway. We took our Boston Terrier, our baby, with us and stayed in room 113. The room was tastefully decorated. Was not outdated. I really liked the blue paint and chair rail. There were more than enough pillows. The room was clean. The staff was super friendly. The grounds were manicured and beautiful. The dining room had dozens of hummingbirds outside the window at the feeders. I was having allergy issues and the waitress brought me a bunch of tissues.

Cons:
1. The bathtub is the original porcelain tubs from the 50's. The are very functional and but the tub became very slick when soaping up and didn't have a mat. I actually slipped and fell. I would recommend them putting a anti-slip mat in the tub.
2. No microwave or fridge, but I knew that going into it.

My friends and I visited Kenlake Hotel and ate at Kenlake Marina at their new restaurant. The restaurant was excellent and the hotel was nice with a great pool and gorgeous scenery. The looked awesome too. Would definitely recommend!
