Reservations were made for lunch when I arrived at Shaker Village for my tour. This being a cold week day and being alone made this easy to do. If you are with a group or touring during a busy season, I suggest calling ahead. The staff were so friendly and accommodating at the restaurant. My server answered all my questions about the food. Offered suggestions and made me feel so welcomed. Since I had spent the morning in the cold wind walking the property, I began with hot tea. My server also brought an English pea salad served in wood bowl, and an assortment of bread. ( soda bread, a sweet bread and corn muffins) all very good. I chose the vegetable lasagna for my entree and salad. It was very tasty. A lot of the items are grown right on the farm. I'd love to return when growing season was at its peak to indulge in more fresh options right to table. That being said, I had no complaints with food. I chose the buttermilk pie for dessert and took a slice of the Shakers lemon pie back to hotel for my daughter. I enjoyed the buttermilk but I have to admit my mom still makes the best pie crust. :) my daughter's review of her pie is pending since she hasn't eaten it yet. ;) I would definitely return and it was a lovely experience.
