We booked Flight's End for our recent mini vacation and were extremely pleased. The house is definitely a place where people lived and grew old, and had a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. There is a nice brook on the property and a pond just across the street, with a pond room with a great view. We saw all manner of ducks and geese as well as a heron. The house was extremely clean and had plenty of room for our family of four and our dog. If we return to the area again, we will definitely stay here!
We are a couple in our 80's whose grown kids and grandkids took turns making short visits. They especially enjoyed the chance to use the canoe and kayak on the pond. We ourselves enjoyed walks, views, swimming in the lake in Plainfield, a Sunday Jazz concert in Charlemont, a trip to the Clark Museum in Williamstown and the Dickinson home in Amherst. The house itself has a very well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of linens and supplies. The owner is helpful, friendly, and not at all intrusive. The only problem that renters need to allow for when making their plans is is in the area of communication. It is inconvenient not to be able to make calls outside the 413 area even if we are willing to pay for them. It is good to have wi-fi, but most often it works extremely slowly or not at all. Of course, it might be good for us to spend some vacation time away from e-mail. On the other hand, if connectivity is essential to one's peace of mind, this otherwise charming place might not be the right one.
Very pleasant place to stay. Felt like staying at Grandma's house in the country. The owner is a very pleasant and easy going fellow and the price is reasonable.
House and grounds look like the pictures. The surrounding area is very calm and quiet. House comes with wi-fi, but there is no cell phone service on these mountains. We didn't get to use the pond, because we came at the end of a very dry August and the water was too low for swimming or canoeing. But the brook was great, couldn't get the kids out of it.
We enjoyed visiting the local attractions like Berkshire East Mountain resort and the sugar houses (where they produce maple syrup) and the famous New England dairies.
Overall, a really nice place if you want to get away from it all.

The house was very clean and cozy. Everything was as shown in the pictures. As my friends and I are from the city, we love how quiet the area is. BBQ grill and bonfire were the highlight when we were there. Everything was available for us in the house. We felt like home. The house is in front of a lake. We love it! We love the country side. We love the quietness. We love the house.
Found this property to be a good one for the three of us. Great price, owner nearby and accessible. Very clean and comfy. Would have appreciated a little more about directions to find the property ahead of time. Would we recommend it for other travelers? Yes!
