Yes, we just got the decorations up. It takes two people a full week to do it. We generally will have decorations up from mid November to early January. I love to hear we are one of the best- that is our goal. Thanks for choosing us and for the review.
We only stayed one night, but it was delightful. The history of this B & B was very interesting & the hosts were so nice & showed us around. They had little candy dishes with treats for the all guests. Plus there was a kitchen on the second floor with chips & drinks for everyone to have.
The only thing that we didn't love was the breakfast. It was a scrambled egg rollup with grits. The rollup had a weird taste & that was the first time my husband & I had eaten grits...no a fan. It was a very elegant presentation & such a gorgeous dining room.
One of the guests gave us a map with a walking tour for all the historical homes in that area. We had a great time walking around the area.
I would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for the review. I'm glad the breakfast presentation was elegant- that's important - but we want you to like it!! Next time we will give you something different- and I think we will take this dish off our menu altogether.
We stayed her for our second time in September. Overall our stay was great. We stayed in the Edison and the transom window to the hall does not have sufficient coverage on it so we had to wear sleep masks. The bathroom could use some updating- mostly the tiny shower. The room was clean, well lit and had enough lighting. The breakfast was good however the tables are always set with chargers and fancy china also used as chargers these do not get cleaned regularly and often had crumbs on them. Ample parking available.
We had a three night stay in the Edison room and were thrilled with everything. The room and bath were lovely, as was the rest of the house. I sat in a different public sitting room each night to read and relax. A deck area out back also provides opportunities for relaxation. There are carafes of wine throughout the house and fresh baked goodies. There is also a kitchen on the second floor that is well stocked with snacks and beverages. Information on local attractions was readily available. Kristen is very nice and did a fine job with the breakfasts each day. DuPont Mansion is located within the Old Louisville section of the city and anywhere you walk you see beautiful Victorian mansions. I'd highly recommend you consider staying here. Enjoy!
Thanks for the praise . I know it takes time and thought to post reviews but it is helpful to both us and future guests.
Beautiful B&B we stayed in the Cleveland suite. Very clean! Awesome back deck and landscaping. Beautiful mansion in and out. Kristin the innkeeper could not have been more accommodating. Very nice owner! Our suite was awesome! Food was awesome. Had real oatmeal. Lol Awesome experience would definitely recommend and we would definitely go back. Thank you Kristin for the awesome experience!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to review us. Just a note for others- you had oatmeal because you requested it--and anyone can request it -- but our usual breakfast is considerably more elegant. We aim to please.
Had a wonderful time at DuPont Mansion. The house is warm and beautiful and kept up in amazing condition.
The best part of the visit was the inn keeper Kristin who treats you just like family. You never have to want for anything. She was so gracious and friendly. Delicious breakfast with vegetables in her garden and helped us figure out what to do while we visited. We could not have been happier. We are working on coming back with friends and hope she will help us again with our visit.
Thanks for a special and memorable time!
Thanks for the great review. I know it takes time to do that and we appreciate it.
