Nice alternative to Sunday River on mountain boring restaurants. Fun menu with large portions. The onion soup was great. Good selection of seafood dishes. Chicken saltamboco was very good. Excellent and friendly staff with efficient service.

My friends and I were in town for a girls ski weekend and ate here Friday night. Great ambiance and service and food. They made our weekend quite memorable.

We’ve been coming to Bethel to ski at Sunday River for 30 years. During that time we’ve seen many restaurants come and go and have eaten in our share of ski bars and pubs, but we always felt that the area could use something better - Brian’s is it!
After skiing all day we decided that we didn’t want the usual post ski nachos and burgers, so we went on line to see if there was someplace new to us and Brian’s kept coming up. We checked out the menu and decided to try it. We called to make a reservation but were told that they don’t accept them for parties less than 6, so we just headed over. It was crowded when we got there so we put our names in and hung out at the small bar where we met people instantly and had good conversation (hey, we’re all skiers so plenty to talk about). After 45 minutes our table was ready. We started with Thai Calamari which was fabulous. If you like fried calamari this is a big step up from that. Crispy with a light sweet sauce. We then had a nice Caesar salad with house made dressing and a couple of house baked rolls and butter - even the rolls were great! My wife had the scallops very lightly breaded in panko crumbs - sweet, fresh and cooked perfectly. I decided to go with the home made pasta Bolognese - simple and delicious. The service was great - our waitress was always there when we needed anything and the food came out hot and promptly - but not rushed. The menu is varied but not overwhelming - it includes their own spin on poutine made with sweet potatoes, home made pasta, lamb chops, seafood, steak - all done with Brian’s creative touch. The wine list isn’t huge but big enough and includes some really nice wines moderately priced. They also have a full bar selection including craft beers. We loved it and will be back the next time we go skiing at Sunday River.

We've gone twice - once sat on the front porch, relaxing and a peaceful couples dinner - food was good that time but not amazing. This time we sat in the bar area and enjoyed it so much more - totally different time of energy - restaurant is more relaxing and intimate; the pub is lively and interactive.
Pros: the kitchen and restaurant appear very clean (kitchen is open to the bar area). The energy in the bar is fun and lively. The menu is large and varied. Friends enjoyed the oysters. Very nice wine selection - favorites were by the bottle but you can always take it home.
Not 100%: The charcuterie board is huge but had more fluff than cheese; I'm not a fan of all of the meats and extra stuff, but they were able to add GF crackers which was a huge help. Two in the party ordered steak tips - one was a special and the other off the menu - both complained the meat was tough and not what expected - flavor was excellent, quality was not great. The starch portion was huge so if you love potatoes you will be very happy. Salmon appeared to be good, but again a huge portion of risotto.
Limited gluten free options (no GF pasta) but you can easily adjust the menu items so a Gluten Free person can eat here without incident.
Considering the options in Bethel, we will definitely go back, mostly for the atmosphere.

Recently visited Bethel and had an excellent dinner at Brian’s. Atmosphere was calm, decor was casually elegant, service was prompt & attentive without being fussy...and most importantly, the food was delicious and well presented. Thank you!
