Very nice scenery, without the busy traffic in town Camden. Don't bring the pets. Unfortunately we found the construction job on Hwy 52 but the lake itself is a very beautiful setting. Clean well kept up and appealing to the eyes.

We are visiting some friends for a few days and staying at a vacation rental on the lake. There are no words to describe the beauty all around. The peace and quiet alone are invaluable. We kayaked a little on the lake yesterday but we certainly will be back to enjoy all the lake has to offer, swimming, boating, paddleboarding and even long walks. We really haven't had much time to explore but I KNOW I LOVE IT HERE.

We engaged in several drives as the weather was not conducive for outdoor activities. This was lovely. We did not stop for Fernand's Neck; that was the plan, but the rain started again.

We took a sneak peak of the lake from one of the sandy shores and then decided to enjoy the view from the top.
The walk up the Maiden Cliff Hill is by itself a pleasant activity. It's a rather easy 45 mn uphill hike, most of it in the shade of beautiful trees. The summit view over Megunticook Lake and the ocean is just stunning, perfect summit reward! We went down the "scenic" trail and were not disappointed. It is a 2 hour activity, comfortable shoes are a must.

I took the hike on the Maiden Cliff trail to get the view of the lake in the picture. It is a mile to the top. The first half is steep but then it gets more level. It is definitely worth the effort as the views are spectacular.
