Stopped here after walking the Marginal Way. It is literally the first restaurant you come to at the Perkins Cove end of the Marginal Way. Asked the waitress what was in the seafood chowder and when she listed everything my husband, who ALWAYS has the clam chowder, opted for the seafood chowder as well! It was SOOOOOO worth it! Nice bite sized chunks of shrimp, lobster, clams, scallops and haddock in a rich tasting broth with a nice sprinkling of paprika on top! It was so good I bought a quart of it to bring home to have for supper that night! Superb! Also had a lobster roll! They definitely know how to do a good, New England style lobster roll. Big chunks of lobster with just a small bit of mayo, heaped in a grilled hot-dog roll! Served with a pickle, chips and a little cup of coleslaw. Can't get any better!!!

The Oarweed located in Perkins Cove at the start of Marginal Way has three sections: outdoor tables adjacent to the Marginal Way; an inside section with roll up plastic windows; and a more enclosed indoor section. The view from the tables or the windows of the rocky cove and ocean is great. The also have an adjacent parking lot, which in the summer is staffed by attendants.

We were greeted immediately upon entering and taken to an outdoor table which we requested. Admittedly, we visited mid-week in mid-September. It would be different in the summer. Our waiter arrived quickly with the menus, and came back for our drink orders. He was cheerful, and helpful in answering questions about items on the menu. Seafood predominates on the menu. The chowder and the crab cakes were very tasty. The crab cakes were large.

The bathrooms were clean, but small.

Perfectly fresh, big chunks, roll prepared perfectly, great side dishes, went for lunch and service was excellent even though place was crowded; can eat insider or outside; can be a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of the food; have their own parking area

We stopped for a light lunch after walking the Marginal Way, and selected the Oarwood. I had the lobster roll and my friend had the chicken Cesar salad. Delish!
