first things first yes it is definitely touristy but what do you expect in a tourist town! the location is great the staff fantastic, the food [we had was great] the steam clams were fresh and "purged" which really matters. we spent about 4 hours there chatting with other guests even spending some time with Kathy the owners daughter. i am reading people complaining about price, FYI "Fresh" seafood is expensive and the food here is "Fresh" everything we had was worth the price....

My wife and I arrived at noon just as the restaurant was opening and were seated by the window overlooking Perkin's Cove. Our test, after eating New England seafood for almost 60yrs, is to order clam chowder and fried clams. If these,( especially the clam chowder) ,don't pass muster we have a problem. My wife gave the chowder 4 clams out of 5, so very good. I ordered the whole belly clam roll, and they too were very good. Most folks don't realize the smaller clams are the tastiest...I believe. My roll was overflowing with quarter to half dollar sized clams...perfect and fried just right.
Service by Kolby was wonderful and we will return to Barnacle Billy's

This is really a “tourist trap”. It is OK and nice view. However, the “rum punches” are mostly juice and little alcohol. The food is less than OK, but the view at Perkins Cove is quite nice.

This restaurant is really awesome !
Four of us went for dinner during our five day stay at The Riverside Motel in Ogunquit Maine!
We each had a different meal and loved every bite .
The atmosphere is sooo fun! Lots of happy people with plenty to eat! They don’t skimp on the meals!
The staff is awesome!
We will go back again for sure

Started out with wonderfully delicious hot rolls and down from there. Clam chowder had a “funny taste “. Lobster stew appetizer was watery and tasteless and came in a little cup for$15. Baked stuffed shrimp was over cooked and dry, both the stuffing and the shrimp, but managed to be cold and rubbery. Cocktails were expensive and weak and they never tell you that a frozen Margherita is $4.00 more than on the rocks (but probably weaker). Very expensive for what we got.
