Have been here many times and it’s always exceptional. Can not recommend the Brisket, Collard Greens, Sausage and Mac and Cheese enough!! This is my go to order and never disappoints. Anyone I’ve ever taken here loves it. Well chosen beer selection makes this a no-brainer! Enjoy!

We go here all the time when we are visiting Portland. Their food is beyond yummy. Not a stuffy, fancy restaurant. Just a laid back, comfortable place to eat. No one hovering over you. A great place to hang out and enjoy times with family and friends. We were there a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night and they had this really, really awesome band playing at night. Great entertainment!

My wife and I rolled in here after a long day and much indecision about what to eat. We decided to split a two meat plate from the menu. We got the brisket and pork with sides of mac & cheese and collard greens. It was an excellent dinner! The brisket had a nice charring on the outside and the pork was tender. The collards were particularly tasty however the Mac and cheese is some of the best I’ve had. I would say it’s a required side. We split a blueberry pie for dessert.

The night we went was bingo night and the place was packed with locals. It was an electric atmosphere and I’ll make a point of returning on Sunday given the opportunity.

Six of us arrived to find the last table available. Reason being ? It was bingo night, and it was very crowded and noisy. Best to check the website for different activities they have going on as well as bands that might be performing. Or better yet, go early. This is an old very casual joint, said in a good way. Wooden floors, old signage, hanging lights, makes you feel like you are in a salvage joint. Enter and order from the giant board above the counter, food and soft drinks. Alcohol is ordered at the bar and paid separately. Food is brought to the table and napkins, condiments, sauces and plastic utensils are all on the table. Our ribs, pulled pork, Mac and cheese were all great, as was the pecan pie. Restrooms in back. Wifi available. Prices were reasonable. Parking in a small lot behind the building or on the street. If I went back, I would go early to avoid the noisy events going on.

Met some friends for dinner on a Saturday night. Parking on the street is limited and there is a small lot on the side street behind the building (one way street so you'll need to navigate around). It's a very casual atmosphere with old signage (beer, gasoline) on the wall and string lights cross crossing the ceiling. There are large picnic tables and retro tables & chairs. You order at the counter, including soft drinks. Alcohol is a separate line at the bar. They provide a numbered wooden flag upon ordering and bring your food to the table. It's all served on paper plates and in cardboard containers. Plastic ware is available on the table along with rolls of paper towels and various BBQ sauces. Food prices are reasonable and portions are generous. We enjoyed ribs and chopped pork sandwiches. Our sides included cole slaw, mac & cheese and hush puppies (which were spicy). We also enjoyed the corn bread. Everything was tasty and the meats were tender. There is a schedule for bands but we intentionally wrapped up before the band started. No pressure to get out, even though we had finished eating. We stayed to talk for a bit. Even though the restaurant is big with high ceilings, it wasn't too loud (at least before the band arrived).
