This Rockport gem is a diamond in the rough. Right across the street from the Claddagh Motel, near the town line with Rockland, JJs serves awesome seafood, burgers, dogs and sausages. Order food, it's worth the wait. We love it, 5 .

We were looking for a taste of Maine before heading back home and couldn't have been more pleased with this place. The owner is extremely personable and the menu was full of interesting choices. I had the lobster roll and some hush puppies, my husband had the Hummel po' boy. Both of us were very happy with our choices. The only thing I can think of that would have made it better was a bigger appetite to try more of the menu! I hear the meatloaf is fantastic. I hope we get a chance to get back up here again, we would definitely return and eat here again!

We stopped here after friends visiting for the Blues Festival gave it a big thumbs up. I tried the lobster roll, and my husband who is a hot dog lover, was enchanted by the menu for dogs! One full page of different styles of special hot dogs imported by the owner, JJ, from Connecticut. He had a hard time deciding which dogs to order and finally settled on two. JJ told him while ordering that his dogs are much bigger than your average supermarket dog, so started with one, the Coney Island dog, which was chili and other stuff. Another time he tried the Blue Danube dog, kielbasa on a bun with lots of crumbled blue cheese and a few other things, delicious! I also tried the fried whole belly clams, delicious!! Lots of yummy looking things on the menu, lobster roll was classic and priced extremely well at just under $14 for a regular sized portion. Whole pint of the clams was also around $14. Lobster nuggets-deep dried lobster meat, lobster tacos, also sound great. You cannot beat these prices, and the food is delicious! Fantastic lunch for two at around 20 ish bucks is a deal. We are fans!!

JJ's is a small shack on the side of the road. I assume JJ served us and was very friendly! The food was great-best lobster roll of the trip! The fries were fresh cut and top notch. Burger and hot dogs were good too. There are only 2 picnic tables for seating so be prepared to get it to go or grab a seat upon arrival.

Great lobster roll

Appreciated the choices of how the lobster was dressed

Excellent whole belly fried clams and reasonably priced soft drinks.

Good value and excellent quality

JJ was very accommodating and focused on how to please

The place may not look like much but the food is worth the trip and the stop.
