We only stayed one night whilst passing through Boston Spa occupying two bedrooms. We cannot fault our stay as it was impeccable. The house is extremely interesting being a Grade II listed property with a fascinating garden. We loved it. However, the icing on our cake, was the magnificent breakfast set out so beautifully. Homemade produce together with fruits from the garden set the seal for this feast. We really enjoyed it. Thank you to our hosts.

Room Tip: Elephant room is lovely and is at the front of the house

Needed a base for yet another football hop and chose Boston Spa. Four Gables looked good and so it turned out. Lovely Arts and Crafts House with roomy bedroom with plenty of small touches needed to make a stay really good. Very friendly hosts. Breakfast excellent with lots of home made menu items. Plenty of choice and good strong coffee which my husband finds difficult to source.
Lovely gardens pity weather was not warmer to enjoy them.

... so what more can you ask for for really? I can see why reviews of this place are divided: it is completely faithful to its Arts and Crafts roots and that makes it fascinating (all sorts of interesting artefacts and intriguing design features) but it is quite idiosyncratic so may not be to everyone's taste. The Christmas decorations were delightful, the breakfasts excellent in both quality and quantity and the bed very comfortable, though the room was otherwise a little austere, with no armchairs, so we were glad that we were only there to sleep.

Room Tip: Our room had shower only, no bath - not sure if others are the same, but worth asking if a bath is important to you

Dear UnderwOOd,

Thank you for your kind review. Yes ours is a Grade 2 listed Arts & Crafts home. Just to explain, we have English oak floors and staircase plus terracotta tiles in the hall. We do not have fitted carpets anywhere in the house. We have leaded glass windows with original fittings and moulded ceilings. Guests have full and exclusive use of a large sitting room which has a big sofa and 3 easy chairs, large-screen TV and DVD. We have 2 dedicated WiFi lines, so guests should enjoy good reception in their rooms. All the guest en-suite bathrooms have showers and not baths, we have tried to furnish the rooms in accordance with the age of the house - though no doubt we're out by a few years here and there; the exception are the beds, which are all modern and comfortable with high-quality mattresses.
We want our guests to enjoy their stay and appreciate all feedback.
Thank you David & Anne

My wife and I have just returned home from a lovely stay in this delightful B&B. It is impossible to fault it. The house itself is full of olde worlde charm, our room was superb and the breakfast was substantial, beautifully presented and the table, in front of a roaring fire, a sight to behold. Anne and David could not have been more hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. I would heartily recommend this exceptional B&B to anyone looking for quality and value for money.

I have stayed in many hotels and guest houses over the years and I have to say this is one of the very best. The location is great for exploring Yorkshire. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, high quality. The service and food is excellent and every little detail has been thought of. Whether you want somewhere to stay on holiday or for business you will not find anywhere better than this.
