OK...so this place is right across the street from the more famous lobster shack in Wiscassett, which shall remain nameless. When you take a look at the lines for that place and the fact that there's very little seating, you can take comfort in knowing that all you have to do is go right across the street to get a DELICIOUS lobster roll, plenty of seating right by the water, and even a few little shops to browse in. We always stop here when traveling further up the coast, and we've never been disappointed. The lobster roll this last time was perfect. HUGE pieces of lobster, mayo almost non-existent and a nicely toasted roll - in other words PERFECT! At $19.99 it was a very good deal. It doesn't come with anything else so we ordered a small size home-made french fries and they were excellent too. It's a delightful place to stop without the long lines, etc...don't bypass it if you're in the area...just bring cash! No plastic!!

Since Reds had a very long line and we didn't have that much time, we settled for this. $20 lobster roll.. That's it. No sides whatsoever. Good amount of lobster but I never had cold lobster and it was plain. No option of buttered or mayo. I wouldn't spend that kind of money again. But if you like cold lobster on a hotdog roll then go for it!

Sprague's sits on the water at the bridge in Wiscasset. Their lot is small, but you can park just up the hill in town and walk down. It's not very far.

This is an old fashion walk up and order place. Obviously, this is a lobster place, but they do have a few other items on the menu. The lobster rolls runs about $22, which is a tad high, as we found $20 to be the average. But, boy they are good. Sprague's keeps it simple - as it should be. The fish sandwich (haddock) was also very good.

Most all the seating is outside. You sure have a nice view.

The owner came around and was checking on everyone and truly seemed appreciative of your business.

There is a reason Sprague's is on numerous lists for top lobster roll. Give it a try.

Had dinner here with my wife this evening. Nice big lobsters that they cook to order! Outdoor seating at picnic tables and parking is limited! The lobster rolls are too expensive but I suppose it's what the market allows! Bring lots of cash as they do not accept credit cards!

It was ok, no complaints here. Had the lobster dinner. Steamers were maybe a tad over done, but still good. Same as any other lobster dinner I've ever had in Maine. The plus is there is not that ridiculous long line like across the street that all the locals advise to beware
