I was needing an alone trip, and this was the perfect place for me. Off the beaten path, and yet right near the ocean, and amenities. Very Courteous hosts, and knew the area, places to eat, shop, visit, and see. Extremely helpful. I would recommend this over any hotel, any day. I will be staying here again. The breakfasts, were not just toast, and cold eggs, they were adjusted to guests needs, and were awesome, and you didn't go away hungry !! I was able to have my afternoon Tea as well !!! Loved it !!

Room Tip: I was on the second floor....loved it !

Warm comfortable and inviting B&B! Breakfasts were delicious as were the homemade snacks available throughout the day! Andy was so knowledgeable about the area and helped us decide what to do each day. (Although we could have easily stayed in to enjoy our beautiful room!)It is obvious he loves what he does! Also our weekend package included dinner at a local restaurant that was awesome...so generous and delicious!! We highly recommend the Inn at Tanglewood Hall!

My fiancé and I stayed here for MLK holiday weekend. It is off season and most of the town is closed, but we couldn't have had a better time. Andy and Su are terrific. Andy gave us some awesome recommendations to do and Su gave us a great recommendation for a place to watch a playoff game. The home is an old New England Victorian but is charming and well decorated. Our room was comfortable and nicely appointed. They even made our bed (wasn't expecting service). The fairy lights in the driveway amazed us each night. Loved everything about this place and hope to return in the years to come.

We had the pleasure of staying in the York Harbor Suite at The Inn at Tanglewood Hall last summer. This is an historic home near the ocean in a York Harbor, a gorgeous and peaceful little town a couple hours north of Boston. Andy had the most creative & delicious breakfasts each day! Eggs on a cloud, French toast stuffed with fresh berries, Mediterranean frittata. He just smiled as he presented each morning's delights so we could tell he really enjoyed what he was doing. He also helped us plan our days with plenty of maps and information on the area. We appreciated that Andy & Su did a good job of welcoming us while also respecting our privacy. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Get the suite if you can swing it! It was a splurge for our anniversary trip and worth it!

We went here to celebrate our anniversary and were booked for three nights but we left after one. The inn is an old house that is tired in appearance. Our room appeared clean but the baseboards were not clean. There was a cobweb on the wall and dust behind the bed. The yard is overgrown and the driveway is narrow with vegetation on both sides of entry. We were immediately asked for our credit card on arrival. It is stated in their policy that you will pay the remainder on arrival but it still seemed unwelcoming to be asked this as soon as we arrived. The bed was soft which was uncomfortable for us. Breakfast was fine but the innkeeper stayed in the dining room and made conversation awkward. We are experienced B&Bers so this was a disappointment considering how nice the property appears on line. Adding to the discomfort was when we were leaving and said we would not be returning, the immediate reaction from the innkeeper was being told that we would not get a refund. We were fully aware of their policy and did not expect nor did we ask about a refund.

We are disappointed to discover via Trip Advisor that our 1880s B&B was not a good match for these folks. They were warmly welcomed into our home at check-in in the same manner as our many other guests have kindly mentioned here. When they told Andy that they were leaving early, he specifically asked them if something was wrong with their stay. Their answer: "We have a family issue and have to go back home. Something like this always happens on our anniversary." Not a word was mentioned about being unhappy, leaving no opportunity for us to make amends (e.g. we could have easily removed the memory foam mattress topper that our guests usually rave about). Per our policy, we did try to re-rent their room so we could refund them, but with such abrupt notice were unable to do so.

We don't plan on altering the original entrance gate to our historic property, nor the single lane circular driveway representative of its turn-of-the-century summer estate era. Our hundreds of much appreciated heirloom flowering shrubs and bushes will be appropriately pruned after their spring bloom, as featured in our online pix. We are also happy to say that scheduled extensive exterior renovations began three days after these guests departed in late October; and Andy will remain a congenial helpful presence in the dining room providing tips and info that so many reviewers here have praised.
