We were looking for a place to go for dinner on a Friday night that was close by so we wouldn't have to fight the Friday beachbound traffic around Annapolis. After throwing out the usual choices, we remembered seeing the sign for Poor Boy Steakhouse in the old Breakfast Shoppe location. We checked the web, looked at the menu, and decided to give it a try. We had to see if the review that said "better than Ruth's Chris" was really true. Surprisingly, it was true! My husband marvelled at the NY Strip, saying it was the best he had ever had (and we've been to a lot of high quality steak places). It was nice that 2 sides also came with the entree's (unlike the ala carte places) and several of the sides were interesting, like the vegetable kabob and the grilled pineapple wedge. You could even add a salad for $1.99 - what a deal! The bottled beer selection was very good - the draft selection was not to our liking. They serve lunch too, and we understand that soon they'll be offering their lunch selection of sandwiches at dinner time, which will really make this a great place to go for a reasonably priced meal. This is a great addition to dinner choices in Severna Park, which needs a greater selection of restaurants.
