From the parking lot there are fantastic views across the marshlands, the estuary and the sea. For those that want to walk there are numerous trails. There were only a few other vehicles there when we visited so it was quiet and peaceful.

A variety of trails in length and environment, but all interesting and reasonably well maintained, the boardwalk is patched in places and in my mind will soon need replacing. There is limited parking, two smallish lots and I would imagine in the season it could be a challenge to find parking. Of course, you could say that for much of the Cape! The trails are not hard, it is a beautiful place to wander and admire the National Seashore.

Fort Hill is a perfect place for a long and leisurely walk with wonderful ocean and marsh scenery everywhere you look. The walking paths wind up, down and across meadows that slope down from the Hill towards the marshes And the bay, with the National Seashore dunes in the distance. A wonderful place for a picnic, or for an artist or photographer.

We love hiking these trails that feature woods, streams and bogs, as well as the sea. This is not an all-day activity but a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours. There are maps to take (and return if you can) and the price is right.

It's an extremely picturesque view of the ocean and Orleans. There are short trails that you can walk. You can drive and just enjoy the view or sit on the bench and have lunch.
