Although we were irritated by a few things, we relatively enjoyed our five nights stay in one of Cove Bluffs Inn's guestrooms.

The approximately 400 feet of mostly trees separating the Inn from Highway 6 reduce the highway to a background noise. The property, although small, has nice pines. It is well located on the Cape.

The access to the room by a difficult to open door and a non-standard staircase (steep and low ceiling for anyone above 5½ feet) was annoying. The room was perfectly clean and the bed comfortable. However, the decoration and furniture were outdated (1960s wall heaters?). Some would call that “rustic”. The window air conditioning unit made an incredible noise (65 dB on the pillow), which is totally unacceptable. I asked for earplugs, but my request was denied. Also, the room lacked proper acoustic insulation since I could hear my neighbors mubble in their room.

The Internet access had slow periods during which loading a Wikipedia page took several seconds. I asked for an iron to be left in my room, but this request was denied. I was told that the Inn had only one iron and that I needed to ask for it each time I wanted to use it. Very annoying for me because I wear shirts practically every nights.

Despite a clean and confortable room, I will not return to the Cove Bluffs Inn because of these irritating points.

Oh no - I am distressed to see the word 'irritated' in the first sentence of a review but glad to hear you enjoyed your five night stay in a clean and comfortable room.

I can understand why you were irritated. Booking through a third party site can lead to all sorts of problems.

We are not a full service Inn, we don't supply ear plugs, we have one iron that is shared among the 12 rooms. Since we are a seasonal place and both the a/c and heat get minimal use, they are not top of the line perfect, yet they are clean and fully functional. We do offer free wi-fi, which occasionally runs slowly, we offer locally roasted coffee in our Gazebo each morning, we offer that same coffee (a fresh pot of course !) and chocolate chip cookies each afternoon, we have super relaxing hammocks, a small pool, and happy smiles.

Your room was one of our least expensive rooms so it would have the least amenities. Although the bed, chairs, and bed side tables, linens, pillows, etc were brand new last year. If you booked through us by phone or through our website you would have been warned about the steep lighthouse-like stairs and you could have made the decision as to whether you wanted to deal with them for 5 days, or pay $30 more per day to be in a suite on the first floor. Unfortunately when booking through a third party they don't tell you small details like that.

I am sorry these irritating points bothered you so much that you will not be returning to our adorable inn in the pines, I hope they did not ruin your whole stay on the Cape and you had some fun times away from the Inn.

We had a great one night stay. The staff was great, very helpful and accommodating. If/when we make another Cape visit, we will book this place. Also the location is great, right next to Orleans and just down the road from Provincetown.

We are newlyweds and were looking for an affordable, dog friendly vacation spot when we found Cove Bluffs Inn - a perfect choice! We were welcomed with a personalized note waiting for us in our cottage and a locally made dog treat for our puppy. The staff here take great pride in making this quaint spot special. We loved the freshly baked cookies in the gazebo and well cared for grounds. This place is a perfect home base if you're going to be out exploring the Cape. We would definitely return.

We stayed here for a weekend, and we weren't disappointed. The price was right, and we booked a King guestroom (#12). We arrived around 10 p.m. our first night, and the staff accommodated our late arrival by leaving our key and directions to our room in the office mailbox. The room was clean and plain - not much decoration but just what we needed. The office is a cute little silver trailer, and there is an information gazebo as well - this is where we found delicious homemade cookies and coffee. The staff also left us handwritten notes throughout our stay, which was a really nice personal touch.

We didn't get a chance to try out the hammocks, picnic tables, or pool, but there were nice amenities. The free wi-fi was great!

I would definitely go back, especially since the price and location are so great. The Inn is right off the main drag, and we enjoyed visiting Karoo Restaurant, the Ice Cream Cafe in Orleans, the Wellfleet Drive-In and Flea Market, the windmill, First Encounter Beach, and mini golf all within a couple of miles.

We planned a last minute trip to the Cape with our dog, and were fortunate to find availability at Cove Bluffs. If you like nostalgic, charming, old Cape experiences, this is your place. We planned on a Fri-Sun stay, and finally left Wednesday, only because of work commitments. Otherwise we might never have left, it was that great.

The highlights, for us:
- Coffee in the gazebo every morning saved us a car trip for that essential first cup, and it was surprisingly good. Also served in the afternoons with cookies. Nice touch.
- Our room - #6 - was a good size, with a kitchenette and large sitting / bedroom and a great bathroom. Knotty pine paneling was reminiscent of my childhood vacations at the Cape.
- Because it's a street back off of Rt 6, it was wonderfully quiet at all times. We slept like the dead. The Eastham location is a nice midpoint between PTown and Hyannis, and a quick jump to Chatham.
- The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Each of them were equally delightful.

Only negative, and this is minor - we were disappointed to find our room exactly as we left it - unmade bed, dirty towels on the floor - upon our return one evening. We were promptly given clean towels but it was an odd oversight when there are so few guest rooms and the property wasn't even full. Not a biggie, though.

We will be back, and look forward to another stay here.

Thank you so much for your kind words, that room is the staffs favorite room, that and it's twin Rm 3. There is just something about the high wood paneled ceilings that make them very cozy. We are so sorry we left you "un-loved" that one day. The day before you requested no-service and for some reason they thought you meant for your whole two night stay, not just the one night. Evan and Beth were mortified the next morning, you taught them all a valuable lesson in follow-up questions...or maybe they were just distracted by that super cute pooch of yours... We look forward to seeing you all again.
