Fantastic food, drinks, and friendly service. Quiet. Good for a date night or meeting up with friends. I had a great cocktail, but hope to have time to go back for their local beer selection.

Thank Rebekah B

We realized as we walked in that we had much less time than expected to eat -- and both the server and kitchen responded well. Advice on quick dishes and vigilance as our food came up was a great help. Scallops were perfect choice and beverages came promptly. This is a popular place, and eating off-peak is best.

We've avoided Hope and Olive for years as a dinner destination due to their obstinate refusal to accept reservations and from several bad experiences with their supercilious manager, who greets people at the door as if they've loaned him money in the past. However, we stopped in the other night on our way to see a film in town and were quite gratified by the experience. The evening interior of the restaurant is wonderfully civilized and welcoming, and while there aren't that many options for vegans and vegetarians, we found enough to have a splendid meal. Cocktails were tasty and unusual, while our main dish was richly spiced and delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly without crowding us, and everything about the visit was a pleasure. I'd avoid the place on busy evenings, but when things are a bit slower, it's a lovely place to have an excellent meal in a setting that feels worlds away from the otherwise banal options available in Greenfield. Recommended.

When the desk clerk at the Greenfield Hampton Inn heard of our dinner plans, he suggested the Hope and Olive restaurant. This was a good choice. The clerk also said to get there by 5PM as there will be a waiting line to get in. H was right as there were 50 customers behind us when the doors opened. My wife and I both had the Lobster and Shrimp scampi. We both rated it as an (8) on a scale of 1-10. The lobster was claw meat as opposed to the meat of the lobsters tail. Her garden salad was also rated as an (8). Our home baked cheese cake was a (9). Unfortunately, my mixed drink can be rated as a (3) as there was minimal liquor. No matter, the Hope and Olive restaurant was one of the highlights of our recent ski trip

Hey Don! Thanks for the recent great review of Hope & Olive... We love getting referrals from the Hampton Inn, and hope that the rest of your visit to our area was enjoyable. So sorry for the disappointing cocktail, however. Please know that all of our drinks are doubles- with 2 ounces of spirit added- as opposed to the one ounce that most folks use. We hope that you can recommend us to your friends and that you come see us and say hello next time you're in town! Regards, Jim.

Heard about this place a couple years ago but had never pursued it. My sister and I decided to go shopping so I decided to surprise her and suggest we go try it. So glad we did. What a fabulous find.
Quaint, comfy, friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was awesome. Not knowing the menu or portion size she helped us. Started with a glass of Pinot, had an appetizer of Roasted Brussel sprouts and then split the special sandwich of the day--Smoked turkey & brie panini w/ chutney. OH MY GOD !!! so great. All the flavors totally complimented each other. Even though we were stuffed we had to split a piece of warm gingerbread w/chestnut & honey ice cream. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this establishment. Also a bottle of water on your table. We travel a lot to the Fingerlakes and this place reminded me of the wonderful restaurants in that area. It is soooo a new favorite of ours. A place like this is very hard to find in this area.
