So nice to be able to easily get to a long stretch of ocean beach so near the big city. Watch the tide tables, though. The beach becomes very narrow at high tide!

We live in the next town over from Nantasket Beach. I have been going to the Beach there for more than 70 years, There are some fine restaurants looking out over the ocean. They have a great walk way that extends for more than a mile. They also have ample parking. A great place to breathe the ocean air and watch the waves.

A visitor to Nantasket at high tide will see good size surf, especially after a storm at sea. You might even see surfers at the upper beach. This is a very good swimming beach in both high and low tides. Many families bring their children here. I live close by and come to Nantasket Beach often, so maybe I'm a bit prejudiced about it. Like all popular beaches in metropolitan areas, it can be crowded and parking can be expensive. However, unlike the Duxbury, Scituate and many of the Cape Cod beaches, there is a lot more to do and see than just sand and surf. There are several funky local pubs, a classic merry-go-round, an arcade, some very good restaurants, and the people watching is great. With patience, Nantasket can even be reached by public transportation. The main public beach has a combination of state and town (Hull) control. There is no charge to walk onto the beach, just to park.

BEAUTIFUL! The beach is great to walk along for shells and sea glass. Sidewalks to walk along the sea wall when the tide is up. Benches to sit and watch the sunrise or set.

This beach is quiet now but must be very busy in the summer. The beach stretches
for at least a mile. It is a good spot to go for a nice walk.
