Went to the Chowder Company for dinner on a whim and were glad we did. The food was awesome and the service was great. The scallop dish my wife (a native New Englander) had was "the best she ever had", her words. My fish and chips were excellent and Marina, our waitress was very attentive. They were busy but not brimming full and the service was good. I would definitely good back when on the Vineyard.

OK, this is adult only - no one under 21 allowed, but you can take out. We wanted to try it as everyone said the pizza is great - they were NOT wrong! Fantastic, but is it not cheap - you get what you pay for - high quality ingredients make this place great. It might become a favorite of mine,

Worst service, worst food ever. The hostesses needed three reminders that we were looking for a table. They wrote our name down on the back of a kiddie menu. We waited 1:45 minutes for salty, bland garbage. I have had better chowder from a can of Campell's soup. How is this place rated so highly? Skip this overpriced tourist trap and get a slice of pizza from the take out joint across the street.

We use Guest Manager software from Aloha, not kiddie menus, and our chowder is universally regarded as better than Camp(b)ell's...even my ex-girlfriend from high school (messy breakup) admits that our chowder is superior to that tasty canned stuff. We are also open 362 days a year (more during leap years) and are the furthest thing from a tourist trap. Also I'm shocked TripAdvisor would allow you to insult God in the title of your review...things have been challenging lately but I'm sure she is trying. Cheers! -JB

I came to dine here with my friend on our last night in Oak Bluffs. I ate half a dozen oysters and the scallops, she had the tuna tartare and the seafood risotto. Everything tasted superb, the only reason I have given 4 stars and not 5 was because the main courses were not quite hot enough, maybe due to them hanging around under the air con? the risotto was packed with seafood; there was more fish than rice and my scallops were perfectly cooked. We also shared a tasty nutella creme brulee and a dry, fruity sauvignon blanc from california. The restaurant is well run and has a good atmosphere in the evening. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend to others.

We enjoyed a light lunch at the Chowder Company on a beautiful weekday afternoon. Sat on the porch facing the street. Had the chowder - of course - which was fantastic, as well as the ricotta - also delicious! Enjoyed being able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine and watch people coming off the ferry getting their first glimpse of the Vineyard
