We visited twice on our visit to the Vineyard. The place is buzzing, the staff are friendly and efficient. It is a fun place to be, lots of atmosphere, noisy and welcoming. The cocktails are strong and delicious. The beer is good. Having sampled fish and chips, and burgers, I think whatever food we had chosen would have been excellent. I really do love this place.

When we got off the ferry we decided to have some lunch before we took our tour of Martha's Vineyard. Our tour guide recommended the Lookout Tavern. We found out that our waitress Charlie was from PA as well and we had a very nice chat with her. She recommended the burger with fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato. She didn't steer me wrong. It was awesome. She made a very rainy day a lot more pleasant.

Friendly staff, great food and terrific atmosphere. We spent this past weekend in Martha's Vineyard. It was damp, it was cold, it was raw.. However!!! the one ray of sunshine was the Lookout Tavern. I can only summarize this place as terrific. The raw bar was so fresh is seemed like they were handing you the oysters, littlenecks and shrimp right from the ocean. Shucked and chilled to perfection. The Sushi bar was the same way, done to perfection with every taste in mind.. If your not one for raw fish then you might want to try the tempura shrimp sushi or the breaded soft shell crab sushi. Our friendly bartender Mike, steered us in the perfect direction as far as a beverage.. Nothing like beer with raw seafood.. But were not the type that like heavy beer, so I asked him for something smooth and refreshing and bam Kona Longboard Lager, hit the spot and was perfectly paired with the seafood. The crowd there was friendly and festive. This place ran like a well oiled machine.. Crowded but you never had to wait for service and it was always provided with a smile.. Every plate of food that came out of the kitchen looked succulent and delicious. So yeah out side it rained, but inside the Lookout Tavern the sun never sets and the clouds never roll in.

GOOD! A whole lobster, an ear of corn, a bowl of cole slaw, abundant shoe string potatoes perfectly crisp, and a charming wait-person. All for $25, the market price. There was a little too much TV noise but other than that, it was a delightful experience. We sat at a bar whose window faded the water so we could watch the ferries dock and leave again.

We went for lunch and thought the place was a super neat pub type restaurant. right on the ocean and it had a neat bar that had some interesting decor. Our waitress was very good and our crab cake appetizer was yummy. the drinks were quality too.
