Party of 20 staying a couple of nights. Table booked for 6pm. Starters arrived with bits missing and cold. main course arrived , four missing and one with reheated lasagne which was cold in the middle. One medium rare steak burnt to a cinder and waited 30 mins to get it replaced.
Probably the worst food experienced in years.
Would love to hear the excuse.

We have had two great stays in this hotel this year, both in January and March. The staff have been super friendly. Especially for breakfast on Mother's Day we came across Wendy from Wales. She was so lovely and always had a smile and time for a chat even at the busy times.

Food was nice and staff in restaurant were very helpful. Staff in bar were complete opposite, refused to make drinks, denied having drinks and tried to tell us they didn't have any of the free cocktails left despite us having a voucher for one. Floor in bedroom was filthy.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent stay at Maldron Hotel. We are shocked to read your comments and to hear you were not catered for when requesting your cocktail at the bar. I have passed your comments and feedback onto our Bar Manager as you should have been offered an alternative for your voucher. We do hope that this experience wouldn't deter you from returning to stay with us again in the near future.

Stayed here with family and friends on St Patricks Day/Night, arrived down about 14:00 and quickly checked in by Niamh on the front desk, the hotel was busy but given the day that it was it was inevitable.

We grabbed a few seats in the bar after dropping our bags to the room and ordered some drinks and platters of finger food. It was ok and really only to fill a gap till dinner, ordered 2 x large platters €48 total, which according to the menu each one was shared between 4 people, luckily there was 8 so it should have been ok, platters arrived and highly disappointing, wings covered in taste-less sauce, onion rings, sausages and reheated fries with a “selection of dips” of which there was 1, sweet chilli.. Again it was busy so we just brushed it off.

Pool wise, it’s clean, we went in for a while about 17:15, kids were allowed in till 18:00 but again that was ok as it was an excuse to get them out. We didn’t use the jacuzzi or steam room or gym so can’t comment. It’s not bad, good temperature and clean fresh towels provided, you’ll need a swim hat too.

Evening meal in the restaurant (12 people in our party at this stage) everybody ordered and starters came out fairly quick, a few small things not as requested but corrected by pleasant staff, mains and dessert followed and everybody left full and happy but no drinks order taken at any stage.

Back to the rooms and ours was quite cold, no individual heating control and we found our window wasn’t sealing properly so there was quite a nasty breeze blowing in, at that stage it was late so I just popped up a blanket on the curtain rail and didn’t seem as bad.

We had a room directly opposite the lift area so was a little noisy but still got a decent nights sleep.

Breakfast was standard hot selection, pastry counter, cereals and bread, tea, coffee, juices and fruit.

We were going to go back to the pool in the morning but we had to make an early move back to Dublin due to the weather taking a bad turn. Snow, blizzard and windy.

Check out was fast and free parking too.

In short, it’s not all bad, it’s clean, it can be noisy, lots of families, pool, parking and a little outdoor play area.

Would I return? No, probably not, have stayed before and use other Maldrons for nights away with family and friends but personally I wouldn’t rush back.

Would I recommend? No.

Dear Brian,

Thank for your taking the time to post a review of your stay with us over St. Patricks weekend. Thank you for your comments on check in with Niamh, the pool, staff and restaurant food.
It is extremely disappointing to hear that you werent happy with the platter options in the bar , I have passed your comments onto our Head Chef to review immediately what was offered to you on the family platters. Thank you also for your comments on the heating in the bedrooms, there is individual controls on the radiators in the rooms so that guest can adjust accordingly to their preference.
We are very sorry to hear that you wouldnt be happy to return to stay with us again in the future, we do hope that you would reconsider and give us another try.

Warmest Regards,

Irene Wyse

Maldron hotels are generally pretty middle of the road. Not high end luxury but comfy and cosy. This was same as others i have stayed in. Warm room. Friendly staff and food was pretty good to and quite reasonable.

I arrived late and the reception manager who checked me in arranged for some sandwiches to be sent up for me. Just what i needed.

Well use maldron again
