Visited Dakota with friends on a Lenten Friday. Very good food (especially kraut and potato pancakes), wide variety of beer (various German pours to Pabst and Blatz). But it's the character of the place that makes it special. A must go.

A large group of us joined in on the summertime fun. The food was great as was the service. Many authentic dishes and great beer.

My entire family has been going to the Dakota Inn for over 25 years and we have enjoyed countless good times. The building is incredible and the customers are always in Octoberfest Mood! The following are my issues with this establishment: The Bar or lack there of. I cannot think of a single restaurant/bar with a smaller bar, it seats 3 people! Over priced beer and I mean WAY over priced beer! Last time I was there a pitcher of PBR was $ 12.00!! I can usually get low end beers for $ 5-6 a pitcher at most places. Plan on paying $$$$$ for the premium stuff. Do they not serve burgers in Germany? The food here is ok at best and there is nothing on the menu that you would want for a light lunch. Want a salad? Forget it and leave your kids at home for they will not know what to order. One only needs to look at the business hours this place (it closes for the entire month of July!) to realize it needs a serious restaurant makeover!

Great German food and beir. This a wonderful place to go with friends. We were here again for Karnival. The band was fun and the food was great as always. Love their authentic food, especially the sauerbrauten.

This place has been here over 80 years and it looks like it has been kept intact from that time . Lots of wood and animal heads on the wall and a pipe organ which they play on weekends.
The food was very good and entrees are around 15 bucks. The neighborhood might be a little sketchy but they have a lot attendant watching the cars so no worries on that issue .
