Overall this cabin served its purpose and was mostly enjoyable.
-Cute, rustic decor with comfortable furniture
-Great bunk bed for the kids
-Fully furnished kitchen
-Good backyard space w/ fire pit, grill and picnic table
-Enclosed front porch w/ hammock, checkers area and kayaks
-TV's w/ movie options, books and games for rainy days
-Clean, except for dead bugs
I took one star off for the cabin itself for the following reasons:
-Needed to be aired out before we got there. The smell was not good and it took us a day of airing out to see improvements.
-Not a super big deal but there were dead bugs laying around many of the rooms.
-There were hornets trapped behind the blinds of both of the main room windows so we could not open them resulting in a cave like feel in the cabin. I think they need to spray for hornets because I could see where they were crawling inside the wood on the outside. There was also one in the enclosed front porch so we had to be careful not to leave that door open to the cabin.
-Cabin is sandwiched in along a pretty crowded street.
I took the second star off for the location. In the description of the cabin they really build up the benefits of the location, talking about enjoying the lake from the dock and hanging out on the "shallow, sandy waters". The only accessible sand and lake from the cabin is about 12 ft wide. Everywhere else the lake backs up to rock walls in privately owned backyards. There was no where to even walk along the lake. As a result we spend a whole 5 mins at this lake because it was too cold and choppy to use the kayaks. We had a small window view of the lake from the backyard.
