We knew this place opened seven months earlier, and once were even in the parking lot intending to try it, but they were in the process of closing down for the day - they close at 9 p.m. It is not a served-at-your-table restaurant, and they don't have menus. They have a food listing from which you choose either a plate or a wrap. The plate comes with three sides. As we explained it was our first time there, the chef filled a few sample dishes with chicken shawarma, bulgur wheat, rice and baba ganoush. My lovely wife opted for the lamb kofta and I chose the haloumi cheese kabob. Dawn got rice, tabouli and hummus, and I chose as my sides baba ganoush, hummus and rice. Each plate included pickled turnips and mine had pickles. The servings were very generous and absolutely delicious. The lamb was fired perfectly to a medium rare and the haloumi cheese included cherry tomatoes and mushrooms on the kabob. We ended up taking half of the food home for lunch. The hummus is very mild, without the strong garlic flavor that you sometimes find. My lovely wife mentioned that it was kind of like a Middle Eastern subway shop. There was a steady flow of diners coming and going when we were there. We will definitely be back.
