Been to thailand and enjoyed the food, both street and restaurants. The layers of flavors, textures and ingredients are wonderful. After returning home got the hankerings for some thai food and gave Siam a try, twice ( i have tried Thai Basil and a number of eateries with Spicy or thai in the title)..For the most part i have found most of the restaurants i have tried so so. The traditional Thai dishes and curries are hard to mess up and there is some consistency in all places including Siam, no issues there and would rank them a 3.5 - 4. But with most if not all, anything that is considered a stir fry or similar is usually bland, tasteless and overcooked floating in a pudde of tasteless broth with a side kick of pre made spring rolls which have little taste or texture. Let me say it again, the curries and things like the pad dishes are pretty good at Siam Spicy, but the stir fry type of things were, by my standards, not very good ( and it is the same for the other thai eateries i have tried in Metro Det so far.) Would i recommend Siam Spicy, for traditional dishes and curry dishes, yes they were good and i want to be clear on that for this restaurant, because in general i am not too impressed with most thai places around. For stir fry type of dishes, no not all all so - 4 for traditional, 2 for the stir fry and rolls = 3 rating
