We booked this room based the recommendations from this site, and was very pleasantly surprised. The property is located with a perfect view of the Mackinaw bridge and Island, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The owners were very helpful and always available, and the pool overlooked the bay. The only thing that stopped Me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of an in room refrigerator and coffee pot. We will be back.

We loved the bridge view and being on the lake. The rooms are affordable and clean, but bedding and wall treatments could use an upgrade. The rooms are very basic. Coffee is available in the morning in the lobby, but we also drink evening coffee and had to make a trip to town each night. Owners are very nice and we felt safe during our stay.

This is a nice little motel with a good view of the bridge. The rooms are clean and in great shape. It's probably been quite a long time since a remodel, but nothing is beat up and they are in great shape. A good place to sleep for the night when you are passing through or visiting the area.

2 areas for improvement:
1) This is outside of the control of the motel, but there are trees in the park which impede your view of the bridge depending on where you sit in the pool area. It would be nice if the mgmt put some benches directly to the right side of the pool so you could sit there and watch the bridge.

2) shower heads need extension rods on them. I'm tall and had to bend over really far get my hair wet.

good coffee in the morning, but no breakfast.

I'm stopping overnight, not a long stay, but the motel is great. It's not a fancy place, but it's very clean, comfortable, and has a great view of the bridge. If I'm in the area again I would definitely stay here. It is close to places to eat, easily walkable, plus you are right on the beach.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this room. Very clean and affordable. A fantastic view of the Mackinaw bridge and right next door to historical straights lighthouse. Walking distance to the old fort. Three or four blocks from the restaurant and T-shirt shop district. Heated pool! We will be back!

Room tip: Call ahead to reserve...
