We met at this lovely little restaurant in Blaye half way between our respective homes in Vaux Sur Mer near Royan and Casteljaloux south east of Bordeaux.
As we were enjoying the lovely autumn sunshine we sat outside and after our pre prandials chose from the "Menu du Jour" plats!
Tuna ravioli, Crepe with ham and cheese, Gesiers salads, were our choices.
Our main courses : medallions of beef x3 and magret parmentier. (Cottage pie with duck!)
My parmentier was excellent and whilst the beef dishes were slightly overcooked I did notice that not a lot was left on the plates at the end of the meal!
For dessert: Tartes aux pommes (apple pie), Pain perdu (a take on bread and butter pudding!) and a Bordelais tarte ( Bakewell Tart) were very tasty .
We drank the house wines and completed our meal with coffee.
The bill of 100 Euro was more than acceptable!
A lovely friendly waitress completed our experience!
