The park is clean and paved, even some of the walking trails along Duck Lake are paved. Duck Lake has a channel that feeds into Lake Michigan. Cross the street, N Scenic Dr, to get to the beach fronting Lake Michigan. The is a fantastic beach with really big sand dunes. This is very popular in warm weather, although not as busy in early April. There is free parking along the road (on one side only!) if you want to just stop and walk the beach without paying Park entrance fees. This is close to Whitehall and White Lake.

What a very nice burger when it is cold out, this is the right place to go. I also enjoy their salads.

We swim here frequently before the big lake is warm enough. Always find a good spot to lay out towels and jump in. There is a large area where the water is knee level, so great for small children. There is also a deep area if you want to swim. You can also walk in the water under the bridge to get out into Lake Michigan which is pretty cool. There is plenty of parking as well as some free parking, which draws more people than Muskegon State Park. It is a multi use area so you will also be among kayakers and canners as well as fishermen. While we were there several people brought their dogs out into the water as well.

This place is kind of nice because it's got a cute bridge that connects the big lake to a smaller kid size version. It is a little too crowded for my taste.

Nice location for families with shallow sandy area drop off good for adults. Small beach area. This part is located none side of a small road bridge. The other side is a large beach on Lake Michigan which has a walkway and road crossing to access it. A very nice option and contrast to the small family area.
