This is my second time staying here and still love the place. The people are great. Yes some of the cottage need some il dates but will always be my first pick for this area. Thank you for another great stay

Prior to leaving the "resort" I took another look at the website, and the welcome email I received seven weeks before our trip. I was trying to figure out what happened. We booked in April for an August stay so we had to take what was available. I thought we were staying next door to Mai Tiki but we were actually at Tiki Too. I assumed (silly me) that the photos on the website were indicative of all of the properties but was sadly mistaken. We are beach people and the beach at Tiki Too is NOTHING like the photos on the website. The beach is a cliff with broken concrete which is used for erosion. Having said that, thankfully the next door neighbors were not home so we used their beach! The cottage looks NOTHING like the photos on the website either. The toilet, the bathtub and the bathroom floor were all leaning obviously from years' of water rotting the wood underneath. The wood paneling in the bedrooms is typical of up north hotels.
The welcome letter received seven weeks prior to our trip reminded us to bring beach and bath towels, it did not mention to bring our own toilet paper and garbage bags!
I am speculating that over the years', the family has acquired the two additional properties to help with the demand but have not spent the needed time or money to renovate. The cleaning staff leaves a lot to be desired also.

I’ve been to resorts in and out of this country and this is honestly one of the most accommodating, friendly, and beautiful places I’ve been to. They’re doing a wonderful job updating the cabins and condos, which must be hard since they’re almost always booked. The houses each have their own cutlery, plates/bowls, blankets and pillows, almost everything you need besides towels. Every day they have activies to participate in: yoga, movie night, they even have live music! It’s close to town, but not so too close. The resort is sprayed for bugs weekly and they keep it clean and garbage free. And I personally feel like the views are comparable to the islands. Mai tiki is perfect for families, couples, and friends or anyone else looking for a relaxing beach vacation!
