Stayed for the weekend, and our room was dirty and definitely needs updating! The couple that owns the property were not around and we had to go to the office to collect our towels. The bathroom shower was old and in need of repair, the floor in the bathroom was dirty. The coffee cups were dirty as well as the coffee pot. The grounds were not well kept, and weeds and debris all over the parking area.
We just needed a place to sleep for three nights while visiting relatives. This worked out well and was reasonably priced. Strange smell when we got there which we vanquished with Fe Breeze and had to ask for extra towels and TP but otherwise good location and hosts were very nice.
This is your basic "Up North" type of motel. Prices are cheap, the room probably could use updating, but everything was clean and tidy. The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. I'd stay here again!
This is my second review of the Aspen Motor Inn. New owners from the last time I stayed and it appears that no maintenance is done on this "once nice place to stay".
The room we stayed in was clean but coffee cups with saucers and glasses in the room for use were dirty. Bathroom sink leaked and shower stalled needed work.
No military discount but got a AARP discount.
This is an older, no frills hotel and my rating takes cost into consideration. The staff was friendly. The window A/C unit was sufficient to keep us comfortable on a 90+ degree F day. The beds were reasonably comfortable. There is a nice public beach with a park, pier, and a skate park about 2 blocks away. For one night, this hotel met our needs. Had I been on a longer trip I would have preferred a more updated hotel.
