The Beach Haus is not a chain hotel - It has such charm and character with modern updates. The location is ideal on the outskirts of the Traverse City and close to restaurants and shops. The grounds are ideal. We were on the second floor with a room facing the lake (highly recommend this). Our balcony was comfortable and overlooked the grassy and beach area with the view of the lake. The grassy area has tables, a gazebo, and chairs to sit on. The beach area was wonderful - the sand smooth and the sound of the waves were so peaceful. There are lounging chairs right on the sand and a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Both the grounds and our room were very clean - old style access to the room with an actual key! The area was quiet - we visited in the off season. The staff was outstanding. We asked for recommendations on activities in the area and were given great options including a kayaking trip that was fabulous and a recommendation of a drive to Old MIssion Lighthouse. They are friendly and we really enjoyed our conversations as all were knowledgeable about the area. We had breakfast at the hotel which was superb. It is self serve in a hallway with then access to the grass area to sit or tables inside. It was one of the nicest breakfasts we have experienced in our travles and is included with the room cost. Yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, bagels, croissants. all fresh daily. a great setting. The Beach Haus is customer service done right. Great location, excellent staff, comfortable room, relaxing setting, and good price. It receives an excellent rating in our book.

Room Tip: Spring for the lake view - the balcony and view are worth it!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Haus last week. The owner and his daughter welcomed us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff throughout our trip were very friendly and attentive which makes this such a great place. The Beach Haus has a private beach, boat and jet ski rentals next door. It's close to some great food and shopping just down the street in Traverse City downtown.
The Beach Haus is very clean, comfortable and has an amazing view of the east bay! We enjoyed our trip and will come back. We recommend Beach Haus!

The pictures online don't really show how dated the hotel is. It was clean and had a great view of the bay. We had a second floor unit and appreciated that the balcony was private. The hotel just felt old and tired, even the air conditioning is an old wall unit. Our unit was one that the door was accessed by the outside, and the traffic from the road was super easy to hear through the door. I used a sleep sounds app on my phone and drowned out the traffic noise to sleep. I could also hear the people in the next room over in the morning, though I was already awake so it wasn't a huge deal. I would have given the place 2.5 stars but my husband and I enjoyed the free continental breakfast (there were really yummy cinnamon roll cups) and the staff was nice.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a water view, the rooms facing the street view a restaurant and deli.

This is a pretty old property.. the pictures of the room didn't really show how dated the furnitures look in the room, although the beds are comfy, the patio is large with ocean view. The room is very clean with pleasant smell. The bathroom does need new paint, but it is clean. The hairdryer is very antique but pretty functional. The breakfast is adequate with enough selections. The best feature is the beachfront area that is very private with a gazebo.

This is a great place to stay, close to everything. Market across the street, beautiful views, right on the lake, with sand beach, plenty of chairs, a place to grill out if you chose (with grills provided), picnic tables. Old style German decor. Very clean with plenty of room. Love the ground level
rooms with covered patio.Close places to rent water stuff, like jet ski's, para guilding,
boats, and paddle craft. Just lots of fun. Make sure you visit the great winery's located everywhere, and close. Free breakfast is a nice touch. This place fills up fast so do not hesitate, not a large place. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: try to stay on the ground level, with the covered patio. All rooms have lake front views.
