This is our second visit here and we will continue to go there again. The owner is extremely kind and staff is willing to explain dishes if you are new to Thai cuisine. You can choose to add spice or not to your dish to make it fit your taste. The range of dishes are from the exotic to the more common. Don't leave without getting their mango sticky rice.

We decided to try this place when Thai Curry House was closed (12/26). We were a big group of nine, and they took us in readily (had two other big groups of 10 each). There was only one server for the entire restaurant, so we had occasional waits, but he kept a very good attitude while walking around quickly and doing his job. We enjoyed our meal here! We ordered some dishes not spicy and others quite spicy (we had the green curry done at a 4 and it was SUPER hot, even by my daughter's estimation and she loves spice per foreigners, not Americans). Each dish was an individual flavor and yummy We had it family style so we could shared different dishes. Sue's egg rolls for appetizer were raved about. The pad thai was very good, but had no bean sprouts or egg that I saw --so that was a little disappointing. My son still loved it (and the rest of us liked it). I think the red curry was the best --very richly flavored curry sauce with chicken and veggies. The item served on a bed of spinach with peanut sauce was my favorite (R.... something). Mussamun was a very different flavor - cinnamon and spices with beef and potato. We were all glad to have saved a tiny bit of room to share mango sticky rice at the end. 1/2 fresh mango on a bed of sticky rice with sweet sauce. We drank a LOT of water and our glasses were kept full. One plate ordered was not as ordered, but an offer to re-do it was made. I really liked our time here - it was not fast but we went to sit and eat good food and that is what we were able to do. We will definitely return.

In years past I have visited other Sawatdee locations in Minnesota and I was thoroughly unimpressed. So when my SO said she wanted to come to this one, I was skeptical.

They are doing something differently than the other locations though. I've been there a few times now and have tried the following:

Spring rolls
Pad Thai
Red Curry w Chicken (my fave)
Spicey Squid
Ginger Stir fry

I absolutely have zero complaints. They were all delicious. The heat level made my mouth tingle and was delightful. The Red Curry in particular is great.
I have no idea if this food is authentic, as I've seen some people whine about on here. It probably isn't. Neither is most Chinese, Japanese, xxxxx ethnic joint in Minnesota. Its Minnesota, not _____ country. Deal with it...!
What it is though, is delicious. I'll keep coming back here.

One word of warning though, service can be spotty. If thats the case be ready to flag down staff instead of waiting for them to come to you and your experience will be less frustrating.

I go here and the one in Maple Grove a lot. I always say I will try something different but always order Pad Thai. Shrimp is my favorite, but they're all good. Well, except Tofu. I hate tofu. :)
