Owner description: What weighs 8,000 pounds, is 55 feet tall and wears a size 78 shoe? The largest statue of the Jolly Green Giant, that's what.

This was a perfect mid-stop to Austin. Get out and stretch, read the various markers, and take a pic or two of the Jolly Green Giant, and before you think it's silly, think about it. Wheee else will you have an opportunity to see something this unique and different?!

The statue is pretty cool and a really cool place to take pics with your family. There isnt a lot else in the area to offer but it's only a hop skip and jump off of I90...it's also a quick walk to the statue from the parking area so easy access for pretty much anyone. You can spend a few minutes or make it a longer stay and have a picnic or grab a bite to eat at the Dairy Queen that is located right next to the statue location...I would suggest stopping here even if it's just for a minute to get off the interstate to stretch your legs :)

Fun to read about it and take pictures of it with people under his legs!! Nice place to stop if you have been traveling for a while.

We stopped here on our way west. The park is a few miles from the freeway. Great 15-20 minute stop. It was pretty busy when we were there. They have a cute gift shop and I bought a Blue Earth hat pin.

This is a stop that takes on special significance for past employees of the Green Giant Company. It's nice to see the city of Blue Earth embrace this remanent of its past corporate history. As a former employee at other locations this was a must stop as we traveled through on our way to South Dakota. There is a visitor center located there with a helpful attendant more than happy to take a photo if that's what you want. Past employee or not it's worth a visit to see the big green guy.
