A great museum located in a prime location at the heart of the Canal Park district. Fascinating exhibits, wonderful atmosphere and unbeatable price - free!! Don't miss it!

Back in the day when I had young children I would bring them to the children's library then head for the Railroad museum. The museum is one of trains, many of which can be boarded and walked through or at least the controls can be viewed. There is a train with a snowshovel engine and a video of it in use back in the day. there is a toy train exhibit with the trains running through model towns. This will keep them busy for about an hour or more...

I have been to several events at this location and found it to be interesting and fascinating, despite having little interest in train history!

Open cars are chilly, so take a jacket or choose the closed car for ride, even in the summer. Conductors will take your picture in front of the train if you ask.
