Somehow, we managed to get a group of 10 seated at the prime, corner window during the holiday rush - score! The apps & cocktails were fabulous. I had the shrimp fries, bbq beef banh mi and tart tonic. My husband had the buttermilk chicken - it was very juicy but very subtle in flavor compared to everything else. The veggies with it were fabulous, as was my entree - chocolate croissant bread pudding. Yes, you heard me right, and it was divine... not too much, wonderful melee of flavors.

They did a great job of accommodating our large group as they slowly sauntered in after fighting traffic for over half an hour. And we were not rushed, yet out the door before the next reservation and in time for our 8:00 British Arrow Awards screening. Annie our server was spot on with recommendations. Loved it, recommend it, would definitely return.

Dining on the deck on a nice day cannot be beat, ambiance, plus the food is delicious. Small, creative menu well prepared and presented. Nice wine list.

This restaurant is in the contemporary art museum, Walker Art Center. It is run by D'Amico restaurants which do have better locations. The view is beautiful, the atmosphere appropriately understated. The service is terrible! Not just one, but all staff. We were a group of five adults celebrating the birthday of one, which we stated when we came in. They were not busy--only 4 tables of customers. We were a quiet but conversational group. We were happy and put in a nice order purchasing many fun things and splurging for the extra since it was a special occasion. We wanted it to be upbeat and nice for the birthday person. The water person never refilled our water and some of the food order was extra spicy fare. Our glasses sat empty. The bread person brought 4 pieces of bread and there were 5 of us. The waitress never checked if we needed anything more (yeah, get the water person) and didn't come back until it was time to bring our bill-WITHOUT ASKING IF WE WANT DESSERT AND IT'S A BIRTHDAY! We were set to add on almost another $50 in desserts. But we paid and left. Everyone in our gruop complained about their food--small amounts, gas station food, etc. It's supposed to be artsy fresh food. But the person who got the artisan tomato soup with white cheddar cheese grilled cheese sandwich along with a separate salad, pointed out that the thin white bread can be bought at a gas station and had no flavor. It was sad and deflating to spend that much and be the host of the party and have it be such a disappointment for them. I had come another time on a weekend evening and same lack of care service but chalked it up to being busy. Here the water person, bread person, wait staff, and cook were all failures. I love to praise and thank establishments with great reviews, it is very difficult for me to give a bad review and it has to be really bad to motivate me to do it. This was really bad. Do no waste your time, money, or emotional experience. Shame on you Walker Art Center and D'Amico and Gather!

The view is GREAT!!! The staff is wonderful...the food is good. Try and get a window seat...if you can, you can also sit outside.

On Thursday they do a happy hour with small plates and drinks. If you go on the first Thursday you get to try the chef specials for free. It has the best view of DT Minneapolis and I would suggest to ask to sit by the window in your reservation.
