We stopped here for an hour on the way to Golok Thailand. There's a market called Pasar Rantau Panjang also named as Siti Fatimah Bazaar, housed in a building that sells a variety of goods that can be found in Kota Bharu market and in the border town of Thailand. Down the road, there is a modern building that has a large shop that sells kitchen wares.
Across the road from the market, there are a few stalls selling coconut ice-cream. We tried the one operated by a husband and wife team. For seven small scoops of ice-cream and various toppings in a cup only cost us RM2.00. We were told the coconut ice-cream was made by their friend and the colourful breads were baked by the wife.
A good stopover place to visit if one has the time to try out local delicacies and to do some shopping.
