I had stayed up at the Remer Motel for a few years to go up for a fishing trip, since the fishing is great in the area. We have stayed at this hotel before but have noticed that it has been going from bad to worse, and while staying here for our most recent fishing trip, we had the privilege of getting our boat vandalized by some of the associates/tenants/whatever you may call them. The people running the hotel and these "tenants" are nothing but sketchy! If you are looking for an interesting place to stay with even more interesting owners, head on over - lord knows I won't be there anymore...

Room Tip: The best room is in a different Hotel.

We have met with friends there for many years. It was a cheap price for the weekend for a large group. We would use it for a base for our fishing trips. Last year as many before we returned from a fishing trip to the hotel to park the boats and clean the days catch. Upon arrival a tenant who rents monthly came out and told us we couldn't park where we had for years because it was to close to his mini van (20' away). We spoke to the hotel manager and she said she would talk to the tenant. The next day as we prepared for fishing I noticed a beer bottle on the ground beside my boat that wasn't there the night before, and the new cover on my boat ripped about 3'. There was some sort of acid poured across the cover which ran onto the seat carpet and floor. Long story short, The police were called, the manager defended the tenant who admitted to police his finger prints were on the bottle. We will no longer stay there again.

The Remer Hotel is a perfectly fine abode to stay for a night or two. It is right in the middle of Remer and you can walk to eats and drinks. If you are looking for something more, there are hundreds of lake resorts within 30 miles of town. The Remer Hotel is not the Ritz or the Four Seasons - It is what it is!

This is not a new or impeccable place by any means. The rooms are older, the toiletries are a little stinky and there's definitely no wifi... but we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The owners/operators/maids went out of there way to make us feel comfortable in this teeny tiny town of 372. They recommended places to eat (opt for the coffee shop across the street as much as humanly possible breakfast/lunch/early dinner, they close at 5), provided cards when our family of 4 with 2 guests were relaxing with drinks outside, and even shipped one of our cell phones alllll the way back to Arizona. We've stayed at a place in Longville before, but this was definitely the better choice.
