Description: Delightful Tea Room - situated in the former Victorian (1846) Ridgmont Railway Station building, with its distinctive Cottage Orné Gothic architecture. Menu currently offers soups, jacket potatoes, freshly made sandwiches, toasted paninis, plus our cakes and cream teas as available. Ask about the special occasion cream tea available to book. Not open Mondays. ESSENTIAL TO BOOK TEA ROOM RESERVATION IN ADVANCE AT WEEKENDS. Last orders for hot food 15:00. The Tea Rooms are located in the same building as a small Heritage Centre run by volunteers (closed Sundays and Mondays). A small gift shop sells railway themed books - both new and pre-read, toys, and a small but changing selection of new and 'used but good' 00, O and G scale model railway items. The former booking office is being restored and is open (with the gift shop) to visitors when volunteers are available. The main car park is situated on other side of the railway line, but we also benefit from an hourly train service from Bedford and Bletchley, as well as other stations on the Marston Vale line - built by Robert Stephenson and described by author Colin Garratt as one of "The Great Train Journeys of the World". Please note there is no Sunday train service unless a special event service arranged - see local press for details. It's advisable to phone ahead for availability.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. We did ring before turning up and I would recommend doing so as the tea room is very small and they had other parties coming in so I think it's best to book.

We ordered hot drinks, sandwiches and scones. The sandwiches were very nice, with vegetable crisps and salad on the side. The scones were amazing, warm and soft with lots of fruit and proper clotted cream and jam.

We also visited the railway museum onsite which was interesting, especially if you're local.

We will definitely return for lunch when we can. A hidden gem. Be advised the tea room is cash only.

What a lovely place! The afternoon tea is delicious. Sandwiches are generously filled and the cakes are a real treat - plenty of cream and jam to go with the scones. Excellent value for money, too.

When we first visited this tea room we thought it was lovely. The bone china cups were very pretty and the service excellent. However this time we were really disappointed. We arrived at about 10.15 for morning coffee and were asked if we had a reservation even though there were only two other ladies in the cafe. After some reluctance and a great deal of consideration we were allowed to stay. It was such an off putting reception that we felt thoroughly unwelcome and we shall not be returning.

Having concluded a lovely walk using using the above link we visited the tea rooms on a Saturday afternoon. After a short wait a table became available. The tea and cake was delicious and the venue was traditionally themed harking back to a bygone era. Nice souvenir shop on the same premises

Love this tea room in converted station rooms. Friendly staff, beautiful food and not expensive. Decor is beautuful. This was my second visit and would be happy to go there again.
