“Heaven in a woolshed”

We spent two weeks touring Tasmania, and the highlight of our trip was Bruny Island. But the highlight of Bruny Island was most definitely our accommodation. We spent two nights, (not long enough), in the Woolshed near Dennes Point. As the name implies it was a woolshed and the conversion is superb. Large airy living area, beautifully furnished and decorated, a bedroom with panoramic views down across farmland to the water, and a kitchen with everything even a professional chef would require as well as a Kamodo BBQ outside. No curtains in the bedroom, nor should there be with the views on offer! Also a terrace coveing two sides of the building. The icing on the cake though was the animals - two very friendly dogs, a horse who thinks she's a cross between a dog and a human and Frank the duck who follows you around just to have his back scratched. Thank you Jane, (even though we didn't manage to catch up), for a superb interlude.

“The absolute best!”

The Woolshed exceeded all our expectations, and our two day break there was exactly what I needed after competing in the Sydney to Hobart race.
Jane and Ian have done an amazing job with the place, which clearly has an artist's touch. The view across the water is amazing, and the daybed was the perfect place to settle in for hours, reading a book and drinking wine (which Jane actually makes!).
There were delicious cuts of lamb waiting in the freezer for us, fresh eggs on the counter, and Jane's wine in the pantry. All we had to bring with us was a few vegies, and we had everything we needed to pull together a delicious meal in the industrial kitchen.
I honestly couldn't rave about this property enough! My only tip would be to bring some shampoo, as that's not provided, and prepare to soak in a most luxurious tub, instead of using the outdoor shower if it's cold.
The super friendly horse, and hilarious duck were just the icing on the cake.
If you're going to Bruny Island - stay here!

“Serenity and beautiful views”
Reviewed 20 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Our family enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at The Woolshed, an artistic conversion set in peaceful farmland overlooking Bull Bay. Our host Jane was lovely and went to great lengths to ensure everything was perfect both with preparation for our arrival and during our stay. We enjoyed the walk through the paddocks down to the private beach, accompanied by the friendliest horse we've ever met. At night we had fun spotlighting animals from the deck. If you are looking for something a bit different and out of the way, the Woolshed is perfect.
