The real deal for Blues Music. Casual, funky and down home authentic! Great music every evening. We loved being part of the scene just by being there!
Thanks Gillian

I can't say the venue or the band was anything mind-blowing or very different to other small music venues and social clubs I've been to. There were just a few locals and a dozen or so tourists (a few more arrived later on), on a Wednesday night. Maybe a busy weekend night has more atmosphere. $7 cover, live music didn't start until 9:20pm. Toilet doors in laughable need of repair.

What can we say about Red's that hasnt already been said? If you drive by while its closed you'll think its permanent condition. The inside is a hot mess and a little scary if you're into sanitation and tidyness. The music and the people, though ... that's why you go.

Reds is a Must see place. It is so small and looks like a hole in the wall place, but it was the second best place we stopped for music and drinks.
Want a true Delta Blues experience, You Must stop at reds. It is cash only, offers beer.

Well worth the stop.

Scary looking from the outside and scary looking from the inside.

Cash only cover and bottled beer, but if you want a real blues experience, this is the real deal.

Blues isn't about musical perfection; it's about poor depressed people trying to grab an ounce of happiness.

I really experienced the blues while listening to Watermelon Slim toothlessly sing or mumble about the pain in his life.

You could see the hard life in his face and body.

It was then I got a taste of the blues.

Walk a couple of blocks down the road to Deaks Mississippi Saxophones Emporium during the day and talk to Deak a real blues player.

Thank Gary S
