Hotel Levantes is an awesome place to stay. Though the standard rooms are a bit squeezed, the delux rooms are a little more spacious and comfortable. Wi-Fi is strong, but they could do better if they upgrade their TV services. The staff are friendly, the price even more friendly.
The Chef is awesome. he made for us food that left us finger licking. I would strongly recommend this place.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your review and very glad you had a great stay at the Hotel Levantes :) we will make sure the chef hears your feedback. The Wifi and TV services are issues we are aware off and are working to resolve although there are a few challenges being a rural location as you know. We look forward to hosting you again on your next visit!

Cheers,
Tonny

There really is very little if any choice of decent hotels in this area. The garden is lovely and peaceful despite being on a main road.
Hotel and rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Sheets, towels etc changed daily.
Food menu is limited for Brits, but the staff really will do everything to accommodate you.
Furniture and decor are a little faded, but to be expected, given the challenges of running this size of hotel in this vicinity.
Staff and the delightful owners more than make up for that. It also feels a very secure place to stay.sorry the stars won't click to rate, but happy with this hotel for cost and location

Room tip: Ask for room away from main road

Hotel Levantes provided an great choice for a brief holiday stay-over providing us a chance to attend a friend’s family function in Teso along the slopes of Mt Elgon and later cross over into Uganda and visit Jinga town for the day.

The rooms are clean and the staff very accommodating and helpful

Situated in the border town of Malaba. It's unlikely you would be there as a tourist. You will probably be an NGO or like my wife and I itinerant missionaries. Don't expect luxury but accommodation is adequate and I'm told the best in the area. I would advice to make your requirements clear speak to the owner William if need be. He has a PhD in public health from a British University and is very helpful. I recommend the Spanish omelette for breakfast. The WiFi was down for our visit but I believe it may be fixed by now
I would definitely return.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. In Kenya you can ask to see the room before accepting it. We found that there was no running water available and so could negotiate on the room rates. WE were given a deluxe room. IT was clean and spacious. IT had a quen size bed, TV, mosquito nets, bath room with sit on toilet and basin for bathing. THe staff brought you warm water for bathing and flushing the toilet. You need to ask for bottled water. THe compound has 24 hour security. The hotel has a resturaunt. We didn't have food. This is a budget hotel which was suitable for our short stay.

Room tip: Get a room away from the road. This hotel is on the highway to Uganda. Deluxe rooms are better than standard roms.

Thanks you very much for your review of our Hotel. We have noted the water issue and are currently investing in an on-site borehole to avoid dependence on the local council water supply which is erratic and unreliable. We apologise again for the inconvenience caused but glad you enjoyed the rest of your stay. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon :)
