Four of us (all adults), went for lunch on Easter Sunday and were most impressed.
Three of us had roast lamb and the other person had homemade chicken pie with chips. We all agreed that the meals were very tasty and well presented and the portions were large. There was a good variety of vegetables and plenty of them too.
We weren't sure that we could accommodate a dessert, but they sounded so scrummy that we just had to make room!
We ordered the Irish liqueur creme brulee, chocolate cheesecake and chocolate sponge pudding with custard. The desserts were so well-presented and tasted even better, than they sounded!
Would highly recommend this pub. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the service is very good. The decor is lovely and there was a great ambience. The food was wonderful, well-cooked, plentiful and beautifully presented. Look forward to returning.

Thank Amalum

We had a surperb lunch today , a lovely sunny table for two in the window, attentive and professional staff, our food was outstanding.....scallops, Venison suet pudding, scampi with sweet potato fries, we even managed desserts which again were lovely.
We left "stuffed" but very happy customers.....just had to write a review and say WELL DONE. fantastic!

When I go out for Sunday lunch and everyone around me is having roast dinners and there's no vegetarian option that resembles a roast dinner I get very discontented. So it was a pleasure to know that i could actually have a vegetarian roast today when my husband and I went there for lunch. Gravy and roasting fat are vegetarian, which a lot of places don't do. And if a roast wasn't what i wanted there were three vegetarian options on the specials board. My husband had the roast beef, which he said was delicious, and he was also pleased with the beer - and that takes some doing! Desserts were excellent too.
We were seated quickly (we had reserved a table), and served quickly and efficiently by friendly staff. One of the best things about the place was that they hadn't raised prices just because it was Mothering Sunday, the bill was very reasonable.
Will definitely return for more Sunday lunches!

What a lovely Mother’s Day lunch, thank you to Charlie for extending our table at short notice. Great starters, scallops, tortellini and one rarebit all thoroughly enjoyed. Mains of beef, chicken, venison suet pudding, calves liver and duck all cooked well... any room for desert.... go on then! Waffles, Black Forest gateau, jam sponge and creme brûlée with salted caramel popcorn. Great service and a beautiful pub.

Lovely pub. Friendly staff. Open fire and gorgeous traditional meals. Second night hear as staying at Lifehouse and food to expensive there. Can not fault in anyway and reasonable priced food. Definitely will be back
