We are a family of three. Our child is 10 years old. We stayed in Sayulita as part of a spring break vacation and have been to Mexico about a half dozen times. There are some important and practical things to know about Casablanca Sayulita hotel.

Upon arrival expect to provide a 1000 peso deposit for your beach towels, the remote for the air conditioner and the TV remote. They do not accept credit cards to secure a damage deposit upon check in. Make sure you get a receipt. The manager/owner is unfriendly and indifferent. There is no warm welcome or even a thanks come again when we checked out. You will get one key only. So find a good hiding spot if you don't plan to enter your room together, 100% of the time. Ask for a blanket as the bed only comes with a top sheet and bed spread. Coffee grounds and sugar are provided. There are no knives to cook with for cutting and chopping. Bring your own if you plan to cook. The fridge is a bar fridge size with no freezer that rocked when you open the door due to a hasty installation. There is no ice bucket, but ice is provided. There is filtered water also provided at the front desk and by the pool which you replenish with a water jug. Ours was dirty, so I rinsed it out before it was filled.

The microwave short circuited in the back and sparks flew from the wiring. Yes, didn't use that again.

The towels had holes in them. They do provide soap, but no shampoo or hand cream.

We had to ask for more toilet paper and the Kleenex wasn't replaced when that ran out.

The white curtains are stained and the curtain rods hang by a thread. There is a safe, but my husband could open ours by putting in four random digits (our old street address) in the key pad and it opened! We locked it with our key too. Amazing!

My sons scull candy hesh2 wireless headphones were stolen off the coffee table. The only people that would have had access were the cleaners. We tipped them 50 pesos per day too. My beach blanket was stolen off our golf cart, but I can accept that as a bad decision on my part since I left it on the seat.

The beach could use about more beach umbrellas as the morning towel placers were there at the crack of dawn, which then sit empty till noon.

The location was good. About a ten minute walk. There are security cameras and a guard at night. Lots of nice birds. The hotel is really quiet.

The hot tub works great but needs to be cleaned of the ring of scum more often. There is also a charcoal barbecue on the same top deck.

The beach is lovely and no plastic! Just raw sewage flowing into the beach at the south end. I believe there is going to be a treatment plant put in soon?

In planning our Sayulita trip, pictures of Casablanca Sayulita caught our eye early on and, after exploring many options, we chose to stay here for its beach access, distance from town and stunning design. We were 100% satisfied!

Casablanca Sayulita is a tranquil oasis, a level 10-minute walk from the buzz of Sayulita.

Before our stay, email communication with Octavio to book rooms and transportation was clear and prompt, and our driver greeted us at the airport, as arranged. We arrived at the hotel a couple of hours before check in, and were made comfortable poolside while we waited for our room to be ready. From there we were able to explore the property and the beach, and go for a swim.

Travelling with two teens, we booked a 2-bedroom ‘C’ suite, of which there are two. One is accessed at grade, while ours was up a short flight of outside stairs. To our delight, half the suite was sheltered open-air space including the dining area under a palapa roof, the living area and the kitchen. Off the kitchen, through a locking door, is the master bedroom with a king bed. The second bedroom (with bunk beds) and the bathroom are directly off the master bedroom. Our suite and the layout of the entire property has been thoughtfully designed for both aesthetics and function, and every area is nicely decorated and well-appointed.

Access to Sayulita’s north beach directly in front of the hotel property meant we had an easy alternative to the town’s often crowded main beach. Bringing your own beach umbrella might be a good idea, as the hotel umbrellas are very popular and generally claimed for the day by 8 am.

Front desk, maintenance and maid staff were always helpful and quick to respond to any requests. The facility felt very secure at night with gates at the road and beach and security on site.

Most of all, we loved the natural and human sights/sounds of open-air living at Casablanca Sayulita - the ever-present surf, birds overhead, nightly gecko visits, children playing in the pool, the clinking of dishes in a nearby suite, greeting a neighbour strolling by.

It is paradise!

Our family of 10 stayed in the private house and had a great experience. The house is set up perfectly for a family as the three suites (2 suites with bunk beds) are perfect for grandkids, privacy and comfort. The property is well cared for with lush gardens, clean pool, and rooms. Beds are comfortable, towels and bedding of good quality and well equipped kitchen. Staff is pleasant and hard working.
One suggestion we would have is that the pool towels should be changed without asking (we stayed one week and had to ask for fresh towels at day 4).
We would highly recommend this property. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk into town, right on the beach with a dynamite view...what else can one ask for!

This was our 1st time in Sayulita and we booked a room here for a wedding. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and fully stocked with anything you may need to whip up a quick meal or drink. IF you don't want to cook, there are a few restaurant options less then 5 mins away. They don't provide any room service and there are no phones in the room to call another room or the front desk, but its a short walk to the front desk. The pool was awesome and the jacuzzi on the top of one of their towers has an amazing view at sunset.

Room Tip: Tower B had an ocean view.

Room size was perfect for 2. Daily housekeeping was great. This really should be an adults only facility because screaming kids change the dynamics and it's not really set up to be kid friendly.
I would definitely return but again, I hope the owners would consider a change to adults only.
