I waited until today to review The Cafe, because we ate there (again) just last night, but we've eaten there many times, and it's always a pleasant, relaxing, welcoming experience, with a good and interesting menu. Last night we took friends with us, to introduce them to the restaurant, and had a wondeful time. "We men" had different forms of BBQ (burnt ends, ribs, etc), the ladies had salad, soup, beef liver, and it was all very, very good, and very reasonably priced. They don't have a huge menu, but it's widely varied, and I'd recommend it to anyone at any time. Oh, and it's located in a very interesting, small, but upscale shopping area that you'll enjoy, also.

Thanks Trip Advisors for recommending the place. Prime rib sandwich best I've ever had. Juicy and lots of flavor.

The black bean burger was a great selection . Not the frozen patty OU might expect. Homemade.

My husband and I eat a the Cafe at least once a week. The sandwiches are truly delish, great black bean burger, best chicken salad in the city, great BBQ sandwiches, etc! The breakfast is also fantastic, great omelets. The best thing about this place is the people who work there. Very friendly, great service. Feels like home to us at this point!

Had an excellent lunch and breakfast during a quick stayover in KC. The Cafe had a varied menu that included healthy options as well as comfort foods. A sophisticated atmosphere. A tad pricey, but you get what you pay for - a quality meal with fresh ingredients and savory flavors.
