Pershing State Park
Ranked #2 of 3 things to do in Laclede

Owner description: Wander through a slice of pre-settlement landscape at Pershing State Park. The park includes a boardwalk and hiking trail that winds through a wet prairie near a meandering stream with oxbow sloughs and cutoffs, and into a bottomland forest. The park’s wetlands attract a variety of birds and waterfowl as well as scores of other wildlife species. Locust Creek and four small lakes give anglers a chance to try their skills and a shady campground with electric and basic campsites makes the park an ideal overnight location.

Even though my family walked through the park via the boardwalk during a light rain, we still enjoyed the beauty of this state park. We want to go back in the fall to see the changing colors and in the spring for the wildflowers.

Their hiking and walking trails are beautiful. Nature everywhere! It is always well kept and clean. Nice small play areas for the little kiddos and it had a great big covered area with a fireplace and room for a large group to hang out. Camping fees aren't too expensive and the river can provide some good fishing if you catch it just right. There are also some ponds that are nice to hang out by, do a little fishing and just listen to the sounds of nature.
Peaceful place and we really like to go there just for day trips or to go for a stroll.
Definitely a good place to stop and chill out for awhile.

There was a natural prairie/wetlands/Savannah with a trail. Good camping. Clean shower room and toilet. And voracious mosquitos when we visited

Easy access off US36 which a great road to travel
