We have been to Osage Beach many times on vacation, but this time was just an overnight visit on our way home from somewhere else. We had planned on spending some time at the Premium Outlet Mall which is just next door, so we thought we'd give the Osage Village Inn a try. If you are here to shop, this is a great location. This is an older motel and from the road, it looks very nice. The lobby had an overpowering odor that I can't really describe. It wasn't a bad odor, just a deodorant of some kind. Not sure what they were covering with that deodorizer, but it was way too strong. We were first given keys to a room that wasn't made up yet. They gave us a different room, but that room had dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The room was humid. The A/C worked well, but it just made the room cold and damp which was not comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the pillows, although thin, were surprisingly comfortable. The chairs in the rooms were just 2 straight chairs, so no comfortable place to sit. The grout in the tile floor in the bathroom was holding moisture. I would say the room and bathroom were relatively clean, but it had been awhile since it had been cleaned in the corners and close to the wall, and the inside of the shower liner had some sort of stain on it which I'm sure would have been able to be removed with a good cleaning. The towels were very thin. Again, a strong odor in the room. It was not the same odor as in the office. The room odor was some sort of cleaning product, but it was super strong. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. There was a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, some kind of pancake maker so not sure if they were a pre-made product that were just reheated, bananas and donuts. There was water, fake OJ (like Tang) and coffee. No tea and no option to make coffee or tea in the room. On their website, it looks like the pool is an indoor pool, but it was an outdoor pool. It seemed well maintained, although we did not use it other than to sit next to and eat breakfast because we couldn't eat in the office area with the strong odor. Our room had 2 Queen beds and one of the beds was actually touching an electrical outlet, so that plugs were squeezed in between the outlet and the mattress. I'm not sure that's safe. The outside doors were not secured at night, so if that bothers you, don't stay here. The price of around $65 was the off-season rate and for those on a budget, this is a good option for a motel. The peak season rate was $125 for our room. We normally spend $100 - $150 for a motel and I have come to expect much more in that price range. The Osage Village Inn is definitely not worth the peak season price. If I were traveling through here again during off-season and if my budget only allowed that $65 price point, I would stay here again.
