Not a native of the area so looked online for best breakfast in St Louis and this place was on a few publications.

It did not disappoint.

Service was top notch. It wasn’t busy at all when we ate here on a Monday morning so not sure how service would be when it’s really busy.

Prices were very reasonable.

Kids had Uncle Bill’s Golden Waffle which is a large waffle with a scoop of ice cream, whip cream and fresh fruit on top. Kids loved it.

The chicken and waffles I had were excellent. You had to wait 20 minutes for the chicken. The chicken had plenty of flavor and was moist. Definitely one of the best fried chicken I’ve eaten.

Will definitely come back here again

There is a reason Uncle Bill's is the #1 rated breakfast restaurant in St. Louis, but please bring you appetite.
The place fits like an old shoe, and the service is down home and friendly. The waitresses treat you like family and the food is really good.

The menu is vast and 24 hours a day, pancakes and has browns wonderful. Even the syrup is warmed.

We went here for brunch after arriving in Saint Louis for the weekend. As it was highly rated, we went. The actual location is quaint, like an chalet in the woods. We ordered the biscuits and gravy as our appetizers while we waited for our chicken to be fried. They cook the fried chicken on the spot which was great!

First time here. Loved the feel of this place as it felt like an old school diner. Came here for breakfast. Food portions were a good size, service was good and our waitress kept the coffee coming with little prompting. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Got right in and didnt have to wait. Thought the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely come back here again if in the area.

My family members & I made our second visit to Uncle Bill's on Saturday early afternoon. Our first visit had been nearly two years ago, and our experience that time put the restaurant on our "Let's Go Again Sometime" list. This was our next opportunity, having spent the morning at a community event in the vicinity, The return visit was remarkably - and happily - like the last gathering, as our party of 7 (adults, teens & a pre-teen) was seated at the very same table AND we were served again by the friendly & efficient Lucy.

Uncle Bill's does not take reservations, so part of the routine is standing in line (a couple of small spaces inside the main entry door with overflow outside) while looking over the large menu and chatting with other patrons until a table is available. Though the family atmosphere tends to cause seated groups to linger, the staff does a surprisingly efficient job of clearing tables to accommodate the various sized groups of hungry visitors.

Once we were seated (approx. 15 minute wait), Lucy took our drink orders immediately & returned to take our meal orders not long after. Meals are prepared short-order style, so the larger the crowd the longer you'll wait for your meals. But the serving staff is very prompt when their tables' orders are ready. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal, primarily breakfast items with one cheeseburger outlier. Their signature pancakes as well as their waffles are very good, while their other breakfast fare (incl. eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns) make for good accompaniment. All servings are very large, so be prepared to take home leftovers. The menu has good variety, and the prices are quite affordable.

Uncle Bill's is a South City institution, now open 24/7 all 7 days of the week, that has offered many generations good food with consistently friendly & attentive service. It remains a worthy dining destination for anyone with a big appetite & an appreciation for good old-fashioned personal service.
