Advertised as the first KOA in North America, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit during our recent vacation en route to Thodore Roosevelt National Park.
The campground is somewhat off the beaten track, nestled along the river making it a quiet and peaceful spot. The sites are adequate and flat, each with a porch swing and fire pit. There are several mature trees throughout the property, making it seem parklike in nature.
Unfortunately, due to the timing of our stay, we were unable to eat at Pete's Barbecue, but after reading several reviews on line, it would appear to be the hot ticket if you didn't want to cook.
This facility is beautifully maintained, with large grassy areas, a playground, putt-put golf and pool. The restroom and showers are top-notch. The office has a nice selection of gifts as well as a market with really tasty ice cream from a local Billings dairy.
I would highly recommend this KOA for overnight or longer stays. It is great!More
