Moses Saloon is always our go to for pizza on our annual Kalispell trip!
A unique bar and salted peanuts to eat while you wait, and throw the shells on the floor!

This place is such a dive. The ONLY thing good is the pizza. You can't see or hear anything its so dark and noisy. I have no idea how the health dept. can pass this place. My advise: Get the pizza to go!!

When you visit Kalispell it should be a local bylaw to visit Moose's and try a pizza and beer.

This traditional western pub, complete with sawdust on the floor and a country welcome, is a genuine landmark in this mark of Montana.

The pizzas are fresh and loaded and the beer is cold and plentiful... don't expect to be waited on hand and foot... order your pizza and beer from the counter and then sit back and listen to some good tunes... weirdly not always C&W when we were there it was banging UK 80s tunes!

What a great place, you must visit here!

They also do take out!

When we walked in, we went to a table and "thought" a waiter would come to our table. After sitting there about 10 minutes, my daughter got up and went to the bar. She had to order there. How would we have known this ?? We live thousands of miles from this place! To top it off, you had to pay in cash! No credit/debit cards here! Again, we didn't see a sign that it was cash only! We saw a waitress once and that was when she brought the food. I will admit the pizza was very good. I gave it a 3 only because the pizza was good.

The parking lot was packed both times we drove by here. It was so recommended that the second time we stopped. They also have a drive through pick up window. That might have been a better idea if the pizza had been worth a second try.

When you walk in, it is chaos. Sawdust on the floor and the smell of stale beer greet you. No one else does. We lucked out finding a table but there was no indication how things worked.

We finally flagged down a server (there are no wait staff) and asked. Somehow you are supposed to know the number of your table. We never figured out how without asking a server. Our table had no marking telling us we were at #11. While someone in your party guards your table (if you leave it, don't expect it to still be yours when you get back) go to the back corner and order your pizza. Tell them what your table number is and pay. Go to the bar to get drinks. This IS a saloon, so alcohol's what you can get and water.

You can hope that the guy that busses the table from the last people there gets to yours before your pizza arrives so you will have room. The pizza is okay. Thin crust, nothing imaginative or special.

While you wait, and the wait can be long if they are busy, you can carve on any wooden surface. Seriously. Our table was so heavily carved that I guarantee no one could wash that table clean. Some one had dug holes big enough to fill with peanuts. The walls and beams are all heavily carved with initials on top of initials.

It is dark and loud. There are tvs going with sports on. The sawdust on the floor includes napkins and food containers and I don't know what else. I watched someone bus a table by dumping leftover beer into the pitcher and place the still dripping glass upside down on the table (that is too heavily carved to wipe or dry). Then she picked up the glasses by the stems and carried them over the seat thereby dripping beer onto the seats.

There are a lot of kids there, too so it seems to be considered a family type saloon.

If this sounds like your kind of place, enjoy. We won't be back.
