Like Snoopy’s novels, our story starts out – “It was a dark and stormy night” when we arrived at the historic Stevensville Hotel in Stevensville, MT, after completing the first half of the Bitterroot Bike Trail that runs from Missoula south along Hwy 93 to Angler’s Roost just south of Hamilton, MT.

After finishing the approximately 30-mile trip, my wife and I were tired, wet (since the weather had changed from partly cloudy to a cold rain) at approximately 6:30 pm, we arrived at the Stevensville Hotel. We were met by the new owners, Mark and Dana; while she helped my wife check in, Mark helped me put the bikes away where they would be safe and stay dry. Inside, they showed us to our room, which was warm, clean, and comfortable. A mixture of Oriental and European furnishings, the room was quite cozy. The suite consisted of the living room, a large bedroom, and a very large bathroom with both a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower. Overall a very nice setup. Offering hot coffee and/or wine when we checked in, the owners were in every way accommodating to see that we were comfortable. After spending the night in a very comfortable bed, we awoke to freshly brewed coffee and then breakfast, both of which were very good. After breakfast, we started off to finish the second leg of our journey. While I hate to give out such a neat hideaway, anyone traveling through Stevensville, MT needs to stop and enjoy a night or two at this gem of a hotel. The owners are great, the surroundings are comfortable, and the area around Stevensville has many adventures to enjoy.

Gene and Robbie do an excellent job with this property, located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley. Since there are not that many places to stay between Missoula and Hamilton, this Hotel offers a nice option for somewhere "in between." Local Restaurants and Attractions nearby.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, bathrooms in each room. Free wifi throughout the B&B. The family that's runs the B&B are amazing, friendly and very accommodating. Our family enjoyed sitting in the large living room socializing, large kitchen tables for having breakfast, beautiful porch to sit outside and walking distance to town. Quiet neighborhood.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Montana. The hotel is in the center of town, but on a quiet street. The owners are gracious and helpful. Each room has modern upscale plumbing, lighting, heating and air conditioning. The porch extends on two side of the building allowing a great place to relax and enjoy your breakfast or a beverage.

Room Tip: second floor west facing rooms have a view of the mountains

Recently we stayed at the Stevensville Hotel and really enjoyed the property and location. Robbie was great, just enough attention without feeling like we were intruding. In past experiences with B&B style facilities, the owner engagement can be a bit off and you feel almost like you are crashing someone's home. :)

Here, we were left to our own devices, had great morning coffee and treats. Walking the town or hiking/flyfishing, it was great to come back to a charming but modern room.
